Our Second Year - New Projects

Casey and I feel so unbelievably blessed. Casey began filming weddings around 2008, and about half a year after he and I became a couple, one of my closest friends in the world got married. She was so gracious to allow us to film her wedding - our first wedding that we filmed together. I had always loved this sort of thing: filming, taking photos, weddings (what girl doesn't?!), and my dad even used to film weddings when I was younger. I grew up as that friend that ALWAYS had a camera in her hand, and believe you me, I have the greatest collection of blackmail photos, ever. *cue slideshow of my friends and family eating, being 2 days without a shower, having eyeliner being written on their backs, making a very unattractive face, etc*. I guess I realized how fun filming was after helping Casey with Kayla and Clint's wedding. I caught the video bug.

So, on to January 2012.  We had discussed propelling his video company forward before, but I'm one of those girls who likes to just go ahead and get the job done. About a week before he and I actually got engaged, we finally sat in front of the computer and re-formed LemonDrop Productions. It is the same name Casey had been using for his video work before, but we gave it a new logo, a new website, a Facebook page. We began advertising, inviting our friends to look at our work, to hire us. And we began praying that God would use us, if it were His will for us. The next year was amazing.

We never imagined the blessings that we would be offered. Our first wedding of the year was Sarah & Lee, shortly followed by a Nashville wedding (Thanks to Becca Yager for the referral!). Then in the summer, things started to snowball. We were fortunate enough to book through the rest of the year, right up until New Years, finishing with 11 weddings for the entire year. Pretty good for beginners!

For year 2, we wanted to do things a little differently. We changed our packages a little; we've added baby videos; I'm taking photos for a few weddings this year; and we've started to blog. We thought it was a little more personal for our clients, and we wanted to fully express how much we loved their weddings by being more detailed in our postings about them here. Maybe this will go well. Or maybe I'll forget to write, ever, and it fails. Either way, here we are! Thank you for reading. :)

To sum it up - We love the Lord, LemonDrop Productions, our couples/babies/dance studios, and each other. We get married this year, and we have booked more weddings than we expected, already, for this year. 2013 is looking beautiful.

Here's a sample of our latest work: the introduction video from Cookeville High School's Spring Dance Concert. I remember high school being a blast, and you can tell these dancers had so much fun before their high school show, too. Great job, guys, and congrats to the seniors, especially!
