June Weddings 2015

June was just as busy as May! 5 beautiful weddings. Let us tell you more about them. :)

June 5, 2015: Rebecca & Bruce Stubblefield:
Rebecca & Bruce were married at Lindsay Street Hall in Chattanooga, TN, Rebecca's FAVORITE city. I do believe that she is its biggest cheerleader. :) Rebecca, Bruce, Casey, and I all went to college at UT in Chattanooga, and so did most of the wedding party. This awesome, artsy, beautiful city will always have a special place in all of our hearts.

Anyway, so, back to the #Stubblefieldsforever wedding. Yes, that's the hashtag they used for the day. Clever, right? It was stunning. And so much fun. Casey spent all day with the boys, aka, his best friends ever, and I spent all day with the girls. Half of the bridesmaids are some of my dearest friends as well, and I got to know a little bit about the other girls that day, too. They all looked pretty in their long, blush colored, sweetheart neckline bridesmaids dresses, but Rebecca...well, she was stunning.

Their love story, as told by Rebecca:
"Bruce and I met my freshman year of college, his sophomore year, at the BCM. We were both in other relationships at the time and remained friends. When both of those relationships ended a year later our friendship grew, and Bruce asked me to dinner. We started dating officially in October of 2010. We dated for 3 more years and 7 months until Bruce proposed to me May 25, 2014! I immediately said yes and we were married 1 year and a week later on June 5, 2015."

Favorite part of the day:
Rebecca: "My favorite part of the wedding day was seeing Bruce as I walked down the aisle. His love and excitement was genuinely reflected in his face for me as I came down. I also loved taking pictures with our wedding party and having fun with all of our close friends. We felt so special!"
Bruce: "My favorite part was actually getting to marry Rebecca."

We worked with Tim Ivey with Imago Photography for the Stubblefield wedding. He is sooo talented. Check out the Stubblefield photos hereGoetz Catering handled the food, and everything was SO delicious. Margie Clark with Goetz catering made the pretty cake. Flowers were by Blue Ivy and Chattanooga Florist. Wedding Coordinator was Lisa Barnes with Lindsay Street Hall , and the DJ was from Lindsey Street Hall as well; his name was Ian. The girl's dresses and guy's tuxes all came from Monica's in Chattanooga. (Groomsmen, bridesmaids, and wedding gown) June 5th was a fantastic day, and we are so happy for our new married friends. Here is their Intro video!

June 12, 2015: Cally & Brian Daley
Cally & Brian were married at Crescent Bend in Knoxville, TN. The couple was married around this big, beautiful fountain that came to life when the bride & groom kissed. Judy McMillan is the coordinator there, and she did a fantastic job putting and keeping everything together and moving smoothly. All Occasion Catering provided the food and the cake; I wasn't there to eat anything, but the cake looked beautiful in pictures, and I hear everything was yummy! The guys were dressed in black tux pants and vests with bright pink ties, except for Brian, who wore a pretty, multicolored tie. Those were all from Savvi formalwear. The girls wore bright pink, one shouldered dresses from Alfred Angelo. The color flattered all the girls so well! Cally was stunning in the "Divina" dress from Maggie Sottero, purchased from The White Room in Lebanon, TN. There's a link to the dress, above, but I LOVED the train of this dress and how much texture it had to it. Cally really looked gorgeous in it, a glowing bride.

Their love story, as told by Cally:
"Brian and I met at my first job when I was 15, and he was 18 at Party City. My first love. I moved to Chicago, and we broke up, then when I came back to Tennessee for college, we couldn't stay away from each other. The rest is history, I guess. We've been together for over four years this time."

Favorite part of the day:
"Standing at the top of the stairs looking down at him and all of our family around us. Brian said seeing me at the top of the stairs. That was an amazing moment! Time stood still for a second."

We worked with Sullivan Photography, based out of Knoxville, TN. The photos I saw from the Daley wedding were so pretty, and looking at her website, I see that all of her posted photos are so good! Elegant and well composed. Beautiful colors. And her prices are reasonable too! Can't beat that. Here is Cally & Brian's Intro!

June 13, 2015: Emily & Caleb Barnes
Emily & Caleb were married at Sherry Vinson Farms in Sparta, TN. This venue is an outdoor/indoor venue with a big beautiful pond with a fountain and a large red barn that decorates well inside. There's also a pavilion and a gazebo, and there's even a house on site for your wedding party to get ready and/or stay in. This venue site also has carriages available to use! We actually used two of their carriages (a Cinderella carriage and a bigger carriage that held our entire wedding party!), and we were so happy with their service. Elizabeth Hale and Patti Ross coordinated the wedding, and they also created some of the prettiest flower arrangements we have ever seen. For real, though. Hannah Potts of A Head of Time Salon and Spa did the ladies' hair, and Julia Jarvis with Laura Mercier Cosmetics did the makeup. The girls wore strapless dresses in this gorgeous shade of purple. Brad Norris and Cindy Vickers from The Studio provided the music and did a great job all day, during the ceremony and reception. They are so easy to work with! The Sweet Shop provided the cake, and it had the cutest cake topper - two little birds facing each other, with the male bird wearing a fireman's hat and the female one as a teacher. (Caleb is a firefighter, and Emily is a teacher!) We worked with Casey Mackie Photography that day; she is a joy to work with and is so easy-going.

Their love story, as told by Emily:
"Caleb and Emily met in May 2013 at a birthday dinner for his sister-in-law.  Their friendship grew over the summer and they were "official" by October.  Emily spent the next year teaching Caleb the rules of hockey and forcing him to become a Preds fan.  In return, Caleb taught her about football and everything there is to know about superheroes.
"The next summer, Caleb proposed at a cabin in front of their closest friends. [He] proposed on Friday, June 13, 2014.  (Our first date was on a Friday the 13th, so to us, it's good luck!) That night, several of our best friends were at a cabin for a bonfire.  Caleb and his buddies had worked hard all week to get the cabin in tip-top shape, and Caleb (as always), was a man with a plan. Unfortunately...  it didn't go quite as planned, but it was still perfect.
"Caleb had devised a wonderful playlist of some of our favorite songs.  He had two in particular that were designated specifically for the proposal:  "Who I Am With You" was the signal for Caleb's friend, Josh, to get his camera ready...  "Like Jesus Does" was to be the tune he got on a knee to.  It was time.  Everyone was outside on the back porch.  Emily and Caleb were swinging on the porch swing.  Caleb's friends and Emily's sister knew what was about to happen.....     but Emily's friends were still in the dark. With :28 seconds left to "Who I Am With You", Emily's best friend Jessica went into the cabin, unplugged Caleb's phone with the playlist, and plugged in her phone to blast some Kings of Leon. Now it's funny.  But at the time, Caleb was frantic.  He decided to give it some time and try again.
"Plan B. Plan B failed because another one of Emily's best friends, Whitney, was in the swing with them and Caleb thought proposing to two women might be inappropriate.
"Plan C failed because although it was just Caleb and Emily swinging this time, she was still deep in conversation with Whitney discussing perfect marshmallow roasting techniques.
"Plan D.  Finally, the right playlist, the right swing occupants, the right time.  Caleb said a lot of sweet things, was nervous as could be, and we promised each other forever.....and they lived happily ever after!"

Favorite Part of the day:
"My favorite part of the day was seeing Caleb for the first look.  There was so much anticipation and nervousness leading up to it!  Seeing his reaction and being able to give him a hug helped calm the nerves.  I also loved being able to incorporate aspects about firefighting into the wedding because that is a passion of Caleb's.  It was such a special day, and we are so grateful to all of our family and friends who made it so memorable."

I've known Emily for about 16 years - we used to do gymnastics together! It was an honor to be a part of her big day, and she was just so beautiful! Here is their Intro video:

June 20, 2015: Kirsten & Dean Franklin
Kirsten and Dean were married at New Heights Chapel in Murfreesboro, TN. We showed up as the wedding party was taking a photo break and got to meet everyone. This wedding party was full of some sweet and fun people, who were God-fearing and spirit-led. Some of my favorite parts of the day including listening to the girls pray together before the ceremony (and the men did the same), and listening to the ceremony itself. The couple's vows were so lovely, meaningful, and spiritual. I teared up, and I had just met them that day! The girls wore different navy dresses and carried yellow flowers, and the guys wore nice grey tuxes. I just loved this wedding, the couple, and the family was very caring and easy to work with as well. The photographer was Chloe Alicia Photography - this girl was super sweet, and we enjoyed spending the afternoon/evening with her. She took some pretty awesome pictures of the Franklin wedding; you can see some by clicking on the link!

Their love story, as told by Kirsten:
"It all began in August of 2011 at freshman orientation, I was beginning my sophomore year and Dean, his freshman year. As a Resident Assistant, I was at one of the orientation shindigs seeing friends and catching up from the summer. I was already pretty good friends with John Franklin, Dean's older brother, who had been there the year before, and we spent some time talking about Israel, where I had traveled that summer. At one point, Dean was walking by, and John called him over and introduced him. We said hello and that was about it. :) (Later, I found out that Dean talked to John that night and asked if he was interested in me, and when John said "No! She's like a sister," Dean just tucked that away for future notice).
"That fall, we ended up having one class together, and being at a small school, we saw each other frequently. He was in a similar friend group, and so began our friendship. Soon before Thanksgiving, on a Saturday night, I had a question about a class paper, and got Dean's number from a friend (because obviously there wasn't anyone else in the class to contact. Haha). We ended up meeting in the Student Center on campus intending to work on the paper, BUT instead we talked for almost 3 hours straight. I distinctly remember one point, Dean said, "Kirsten, you know one thing I really don't like about Bryan College? The fact that girls and guys hang out, and everyone automatically assumes that they're interested in each other or already dating!" (In the back of my mind, I'm thinking, "Ok, clearly he just wants to be friends...I can do that!" HA...)
"One big conversation turned into texting here and there, hanging out with friends, and just the norm you would expect between two friends. It wasn't until that Christmas break that things turned a corner. I went home after finals that fall with pneumonia and bronchitis, and Dean texted me every day to see how I was feeling. Both my mom and sister picked up on this and asked me, "Kirsten, are you sure he isn't interested in you??" And I assured them, no he wasn't, he was just a sweet, caring guy, but didn't like me in that way...
"However, coming back from that break, when we saw each other again, things felt a little bit different. I tried hard not to fall for him, but with having classes together literally every day, it made that pretty much impossible. There were several key conversations we had, one of them being at a bonfire where we got to share out testimonies (unknown to Dean, I had asked the Lord for this opportunity before things moved ahead in any way). A couple weeks later, I and three of my girlfriends were asked by Dean and three other guys to a banquet at school. (And that is a whole other story for another time! :) Long story short, we had a great time! When we got back to school late that night, I remember staying up with Jessalyn, a mutual friend of ours, and just talking with her, wanting to know SO bad what Dean Franklin thought of me. It was enough to drive me crazy.
"That semester, a group of us had been going to a college Bible study on Sunday nights at a professor's home. Because of the banquet the night before, many of us had slept in and not gone to church. And since I had a car, I texted some girls and Dean ;) to see if any of them needed a ride to Bible study. But guess who was the only one to show up...yep, Dean! So he and I went to the study, and then on the way home, he asked me what I had that week -- which led me to start listing them all off, and Dean said, "Well, why don't we stop at Wendy's and get a chocolate frosty? We can just sit for a few minutes and not stress about school." (In the back of my mind, I'm thinking, "This is perfectly ok! We can get frosties and just be friends, RIGHT?") We parked, went inside, and maybe because of my nerves or something, I couldn't stop talking! Finally, at one point, I blanked on something to talk about, and Dean took a deep breath and said something to the effect: "Kirsten, I really like you. I have from the moment I met you, and for the last couple months, I've just taken time to get to know you, and I'd like to date you." I'm pretty sure my mouth just hung open, and I was speechless for a few minutes, but somewhere in there I told him I liked him, too.
"A few weeks later, he spoke with my dad and expressed his interest in dating me. Long story short, my parents asked us to wait for a while, work on developing a friendship first. It wasn't easy, but looking back, we would both do it all over again.
"Like turned into love, and about a year later, we started dating, and about a year and a half after, he proposed. The rest is history. :)"

Here is their Intro!

June 27, 2015: Mercedes & Jake Johnson
Mercedes & Jake were married on land that a family friend owned. On it sat a beautifully decorated barn, and the couple had created this pretty ceremony and reception area around it. More about that later, cause we were seriously impressed by this venue!
We spent all morning with Mercedes and her bridesmaids. Let me tell you, Mercedes is a funny, funny girl. Absolutely gorgeous, but down to earth and fun-loving too. She and her bridesmaids were so fun to be around. They got ready at Salon 22-7, and the girls all rocked some pretty perfect curls after a few hours. Chelsea Waddell did the bridesmaids' make-up, and Mira Gonzalez did make-up for Mercedes. The girls wore these amazing cream/natural colored dresses, and Mercedes's dress was covered in lace with a little sparkle, and she wore turquoise jewelry. Seriously pretty. Take a look and see!:

Their love story, as told by Mercedes:
"Our story begins almost 6 years ago over Christmas break my Freshman year of college.
Five years later and I still remember what I was wearing that night like it was yesterday. I was a Freshman in college home on Christmas break, and I had gone to a friend's house one night with some of my girl friends from high school. We were all standing around and catching up as we had all gone to different colleges. As the night went on, a couple of our other friends had shown up, and we were all just hanging out and talking. Well in walked two guys, one looking like he could lift a house with one finger (that would be Jake).... and needless to say I was VERY impressed with his physique :) So like any girl would have done, I told all my other friends about the hottie tottie who just walked through the door and of course what did they do? They ran right up to him and started their embarrassing ranting about "their friend who thought he was just soooo attractive." So as I am coming out of the bathroom they shove us together to start talking and introduce ourselves. Well the night ends after the awkward encounter with me passing out my phone number to that hot guy I just met. Over the next few years, we would text every now and again with nothing coming of it since I was 3 1/2 hours away at ETSU in Johnson City.
"Fast forward to April 2014. I receive a Facebook message that said "Is Tanner Vaughn your little brother?" That is what started it all!! We began talking all the time. On May 10, 2014 my brother and I had a sibling evening planned, and we were going to go frog giggin (I only know the date because that was Jake's TTU graduation date). And of course my baby brother ditched me at the last minute, but I was not letting that stop me from "giggin". What do I do? I improvise and ask Jake if he would like to go with me. He said yes and that my friends would be our first date! We have seen each other nearly every day since. I even attempted to run him off in the beginning because, well... that is just what I used to immaturely do. I remember praying the same prayer all the time,... "Obviously what I have been doing hasn't worked so I'm going to try to do this completely different. No matter what I am going to be open minded, and, God, if you brought him back into my life, and I am actually enjoying my time with him, I am going to let it happen. I am going to stop fighting and follow Your guidance." No joke I literally used to pray about it ALL the time. I did things completely different in my relationship with Jake, and it turned into something magical.
"Fast forward again to October 10,2014. My family and I had gone to watch my man coach his football team, the York Dragons. Halftime buzzer goes off and all of a sudden... I hear my favorite cowboy, George Strait's voice singing "I Cross My Heart" (aka our song). I meet Jake on the 50 yard line, and he gets down on one knee and proposes. There were SOOOO many details put into the proposal to make it perfect. I couldn't have asked for anything more spot on for us! Five months may seem like a short courtship but we have known each other for 5 years and Jake and I have always had an open and honest relationship. He completely understands me. He understands my obsession with my four legged son (my dog Wrangler) and my love for George Strait. He makes me want to love stronger and deeper and raise a family alongside him one day. He lets me be my weird self and together we become a weird couple who work and understand each other. It has been the most real and honest relationship I could ever imagine. He has gone to church with me since Day 1 and has always been eager to study the Bible and grow our love of God with me. I know I am hard to handle and VERY hard to love but he was patient and showed me what it was like to feel loved. I made me want to let my wall down and let him in and that is exactly what I did. I can't wait to be Jake's wife and see what life has in store for us! I love Jake forever and always. No matter what."

Favorite part of the day:
"I would say how it exceeded my fairytale dreams. Every detail was more than I could have asked for and it made me realize how truly blessed I am."

Pam Kenner coordinated the beautiful day. The bride's grandmother put together the fantastic flowers. Tammy Capps made the DELICIOUS cupcakes, and the food was from The Hatcher's Catering and More. This day was the first day that we were able to work with Lady and Mister Photographie, and they were sooooo great. They are both so kind, and their photos are pretty amazing, especially of the Johnson wedding. It was, overall, such a good day. Here is their Intro!

May Weddings 2015

May = peak wedding season (with October, too. haha)! 5 weddings this month, all unique and beautiful. :)

May 1, 2015: Christina & Logan Howell:
Christina & Logan were married on May 1, 2015. They tied the knot in this intimate, cool space at the Historic Southern Railway Station. I actually missed this wedding, and I am sad that I did. The venue, the decor, the small wedding...everything was beautiful, and the "Intro" video that Casey put together really showed off this wedding. Christina wore a fit and flare dress with a see-through lace back, the girls wore blush pink, the boys wore suspenders, and their son almost stole the day with how cute he was.

Their love story, as told by Logan:
"Short version of our love story: We started dating in high school, went our separate ways while I was in college, and then fate led us back to each other as I was finishing up graduate school. We agreed to meet up again after 5 years apart, and we both instantly felt a flood of emotion that made us realize we were meant to be back together. Fast forward 5 months, and I asked her to marry me after an Edwin McCain concert the day after Valentine's Day (he sings our song, "These are the Moments"). We decided to have a courthouse wedding before moving to Oregon to start our new life together, and we finally got to have the ceremony we always dreamed of one year later."

Favorite part of the day:
"Mine was seeing my beautiful wife walk down the aisle. Hers was me reading off what I said to Truitt."

Casey worked with Ariana Jordan Photographie, and her photos are so gorgeous! Here's the direct link to the Howell photos: Howell Photos. Cakery Bakery made the yummy cake, and Crouch Florist did the flowers...except for the button bouquets, which Christina did herself. I loved those! :) Here is their fantastic "Intro" video. :)

May 2, 2015: Amanda & Tyler Selby:
Amanda & Tyler were married at North Sparta Church of God, a pretty church in Sparta, TN. I had to miss this wedding as well (Boo :(...), but basically, Amanda & Tyler have been together for, like, ever. Well, 8 years, but that's still a long time! And you could still they are still very much in love after all that time dating. :) Their colors were bold and bright - pink, turquoise, orange, and yellow. Amanda only had one bridesmaid, her younger sister, and Tyler only had one groomsman, his twin brother. Some of their wedding photos were really special because they held sibling photos up from years ago. Congrats to the both of you!

Their love story, as told by Amanda:
      "
We met on May 2, 2007, exactly 8 years to the day that we got married. We were introduced by a friend, Bragan. We first met at Bon Air Church of God, and after church, we went and got a Mt. Sno (the reason we had them at the wedding). From that day, on we've had our ups and downs, but it's made us the amazing, strong couple we are today. We know each other better than anyone else in the world and could not imagine life with out each other by our side! He is my best friend and my forever love!!"

Favorite part of the day:

"
It was getting to leave in the corvette for the first time as MR. and MRS. SELBY.."

Custom Impressions by Jessica Daniels took the photos, and she really showed off the vibrant colors in the Selby wedding. Catering was by Helen's Restaurant, and the delicious treats at the reception were provided by Mountain Sno - one of the best places in the entire town of Sparta! Oh, and did I mention their awesome car?

May 23, 2015: Jillian & Brock Jones:
Jillian & Brock were married at Asbury United Methodist Church in Greeneville, TN, a grand, beautiful church. The reception was at the Valk residence. These two finally tied the knot after 8 years of dating, and it was a beautiful, sweet ceremony, and a fun reception. Jillian wore this stunning two-layered dress; the underneath layer was sleek and form-fitting, and a lace, cut-out back dress went over it and flared out into a train at the bottom. The bridesmaids wore turquoise, and they carried brightly colored flowers. The boys wore grey suits, turquoise ties, and superhero socks. :) Take a look at the beautiful bride!

Their love story, as told by Jillian:
      "
We met in middle school but didn't start dating until Freshman year of high school, through marching band. We both played trumpet and marched in the band together. We dated through high school and all of our college career. Sophomore year of college, I spent 4 months in London studying abroad. In May of 2013, Brock flew to Europe to see me, and we spent a week traveling across Western Europe. Brock surprised me on this trip by proposing in Retiro park in Madrid, Spain, on May 13, 2011. Two years and one week later, we got married after nearly eight years of dating."

Favorite part of the day:

"Brock's favorite part of the day was seeing me walk down the aisle, and mine was when I saw him when I was walking down the aisle. We also enjoyed our cake cutting food fight as well. :)
"

We worked with the wonderful Darcie Bruce; she took some fantastic photos of the Valk Wedding! Heidi Valk baked the delicious wedding cake, and Top Dog Catering made the food. The wedding coordinator was Judy Kennan. The DJ was Travis Casteel, who did a great job keeping the party going. :) Also, Greeneville, TN is an adorable town in which to get married. We love it there!

May 30, 2015: Lindsay & Lee Maxwell
Lindsay & Lee were married at First United Methodist Church in Cookeville, TN, a large, beautiful church with outstanding stained glass windows. Lindsay wore a white dress with a sweetheart neckline that fit her perfectly past her hips and had bouncy ruffles at the bottom. She added a sparkly belt around her waist for a little bling. :) The bridesmaids wore long, lavender, chiffon dresses with matching sweetheart necklines. The guys wore classy black tuxes. The coolest thing about the wedding, in my opinion? The classic, gorgeous car that they rode away in! *insert heart face emoji that isn't available on my blogger here* Here is Lindsay's "The Dress" video; she really was such a pretty bride!

Their love story, as told by Lindsay:
"Lee and I met playing golf at Tennessee Tech, We didn't know each other very well and ran into each other on campus one day and made sure we had each others' numbers so we could play golf sometime. Lee butt dialed me about 4 times in a week, so we started talking, and it was a big joke between us. I stayed in Cookeville for summer school, and we went to Dollywood on our first date with our friends ,Wes and Katie Korth. We hit it off, and it was the best date each of us had ever had. We have been inseparable since and grow closer each day! We were married on our 5th anniversary. :)

Favorite part of the day:

"
My favorite parts were getting in my dress, seeing Lee for the first time, the ceremony, and the awesome Rolls Royce we got to take pictures with and leave in."

We got to work with the supremely talented Matt Copeland from Mattography again for this wedding. Guys, this man has style, both in his photos and his clothing. AND he's pretty affordable. Chartwells catered some yummy food, Andrea Coffelt made the pretty cake, 5 Diamond Productions served up the jam, Carole Ann Johnson coordinated the day and made sure everything ran smoothly (It did!), and the Salt Box Inn provided the AWESOME, classy get away vehicle.

May 30, 2015: Brittany & Mickey Wong
Brittany & Mickey were married at Rosewood Chapel, a beautiful venue that we have filmed at several times now. Every time we go, we are impressed by the unique atmosphere and the beautiful outdoor and indoor spaces. I wasn't able to attend this ceremony due to being at the Maxwell's wedding; however, I have known Brittany for years...we used to dance together! Brittany is one of the happiest, sweetest, most positive people I know. And she seems to be really fond of Mickey, so he must be pretty great too. Brittany wore a gorgeous, princess-like, bridal gown

Their love story, as told by Brittany:
      "
Mickey and I have been friends since the end of 2010. We attended Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship together and had a couple of classes together at Tennessee Tech. We became best friends and hung out all the time. We both had liked each other for the longest time, but we always seemed to choose different paths not knowing how the other one really felt. We finally started dating and the rest, as they say, is history. :)
"As soon as we started dating, we knew that we would spend the rest of our lives together. Mickey proposed to me on February 22, 2014 in Nashville, TN. He had the perfect evening planned with secret photographers, a dinner reservation, and a concert. He pulled it off very well!! We set the wedding date for May 30, 2015 at Rosewood Chapel in Gainesboro, TN. It was the perfect day, and I am so thankful that I finally ended up with my dream man!"

Favorite part of the day:

"My favorite part of my wedding day was definitely the first look with Mickey. I was so nervous and excited to see him for the first time. Seeing him helped me to remember what the day was all about - becoming his wife.
"

We worked with SPhotography, and they produce some seriously pretty pictures. Check out photos from the Wong wedding here. Brittany's fairytale dress came from Country Bumpkin in Cookeville. Terri Wheeler made the yummy cake, Big E's BBQ provided the dinner, and Gunnel's Florist created the beautiful bouquets and boutonnieres. Congrats again to this adorable couple, and we hope you had a great honeymoon in DISNEY WORLD!

March & April Weddings 2015

Lots has been happening in the Lemons household lately. We had two weddings in late March, and April was full of dance recitals with a wedding at the end of the month. Jessica graduated medical school in early May, and then we took a very welcomed vacation to Florida after. As soon as we came back, we closed on a house, packed up our apartment, and moved to Kentucky so that Jessica can begin her medical residency in July. Since we moved in, we have been doing small renovations, and for most of the time, we have not had the chance to set up our office. Whew! Super busy, so thank you all for being patient with us. We are getting back into the groove of everything while trying to settle into our new house and do all the little chores that a new house needs (gardening, painting, etc).

Anyway, so back to our blog! :) Here are recaps from March & April!

March 21, 2015: Sarah & Sam Waling
Sarah & Sam were married at Black Fox Farms in Cleveland, TN. This was our second time at Black Fox, and we were so happy to be back. It is a gorgeous venue, with great landscaping and one of the prettiest barns we have ever filmed in. Sarah's dress was strapless, and it filled out at the bottom. It was covered in lace and sparkle, and she wore a pretty sash around her waist. The girls wore green dresses (in a unique color that we haven't seen before!) and carried pink flowers. Sarah & Sam both glowed that day. They was happy, in love, and filled with God's spirit.

Their love story, as told by Sarah:
      "
We met in a CMDA bible study at school, and ended up living in local housing for medical students, where Sam would periodically stop by my room to chat or pray for me (first year of medical school was incredibly stressful, but Sam knew that, and he would go out of his way to make sure I was adjusting well). Although I had committed to be single through out medical school, Sam’s vision was bigger for our friendship—he sought counsel on how to pursue this “beautiful woman who had caught my eye”; soon Sam started scraping ice off my car every morning before classes and stopping by to see if I needed my garbage taken out or needed anything from the grocery store. Eventually, he gathered enough courage to tell me his interest in pursing me, and even called my dad (I was 27 at this point, so I was surprised by this man’s pure intentions to honor me and my family).  He had prayed for months about this relationship, and had confirmation to move forward, and that’s what he did.

Fast forward one year and a few months (16 months and 6 days to be exact) to Sam proposal. He had our friend Adam join us for what I thought was a spontaneous hike where we would sit on the mountain sing worship songs, pray and talk. We did all those things, but then Adam mysteriously had to leave, and that’s when Sam used that time to tell me what God had been showing him about our relationship and the future of us (this wasn’t out of the ordinary, so I still wasn’t expecting what came next); after about 5 minutes Sam asked me to stand up so he could show me something, and that’s when he proposed. But then we saw bystanders start walking toward our part of the trail, which is usually pretty isolated—as they came closer I saw the faces of my closest medical school friends, our parents and finally my two best friends who had flown in from Boston to be a part of this day. The words he spoke to me and the presence of all those that I loved (with the exception of my sister and brother in law who couldn’t make it) was something I had treasured in my heart if I were ever to be proposed to, but never thought someone would do.
Our relationship has been centered around The Lord, and the Bible, and although we faltered so many times in our relationship, we always find ourselves humbled before Him.  Subsequently, our relationship was not without its pitfalls, and in June 2014 just 2 months before our original wedding date, we actually called off our engagement because we knew we weren’t ready; truthfully, I was ready to give up, and had resolved that I was not going to marry this man- I was angry and felt betrayed. But God had such a wonderful plan for us, and friends and family united around us, prayed for us and counseled us through this. We had friends who counsel married couples, and offered to do pre-marital counseling for us; and even committed that we would not have to reconcile to marry, but only to have an open-mind. We are so grateful to these two individuals who allowed us to see the beauty of forgiveness, trials and overcoming adversity, and importantly how to experience and show grace. We knew within 2 months (Sam says he always knew he would marry me), and rescheduled our wedding, at a different location, which was originally my first choice for venues—and when we decided to have our wedding at Black Fox, there were only 4 dates available in 2015, and only one of those worked with our schedule, so it was an easy decision.
Our wedding was beautiful, and we are so grateful for all the vendors and people involved, including the Lemons—who are genuine and considerate and were such a joy to work with on the wedding day.  Not to mention, they are incredible videographers and photographers!" -Hey, thanks, Sarah! We are pretty fond of you, too. :)

"
Our favorite part was our ceremony. There was a lot of prayer and consideration. It was essential that it be all about The Lord, and our officiant Josh gave such an awesome message. And then to have my family and Sams join to sing "Wonderful Merciful Savior" was something I had really hoped for, and that was beautiful as well."

We worked with SaraKristen Photography from Athens, TN. Let me tell you, she takes some stunning photos. Please check out her website, especially the Waling photos, and if you are looking for a photographer in the area, consider hiring this sweet lady. Catering was by Ambiance, and they did the flowers, food, and table decorations. Sarah states, "They are an all-in-one package and worth EVERY PENNY!" Bangs and Blush from Knoxville did the hair and make-up. Detour DJ hosted the reception and did a great job! Photobooth was Chattanooga Photobooth, and they had some great props - we had to get in the photobooth too. :) Here is their Intro:

March 28, 2015: Kristina & Matthew Norrell
Kristina & Matthew were married at the Tennessee River Place in Chattanooga, TN. This was our second time at this venue, and it is the perfect place for a classy wedding by the water. They have, at least, two outdoor areas for a ceremony and they have some indoor space too. We have seen a reception outdoors and a reception indoors as well. Kristina's dress hugged her to below her hips, and then it flared out. She wore a sparkly dress around her waist, which I loved. Every girl needs a little bling! She added sleeves to her dress, which came from her mother's dress. Isn't that sweet? The girls wore a natural beige color and carried white flowers with some green mixed in. It was a great day, and you could tell that everyone there loved and supported the couple, especially those in their wedding party who all gave funny and/or touching speeches.

Their love story, as told by Kristina:
"It's crazy how we met actually. It's turned out to have a great ending, and I know God has all the credit for it!! Funny story...we were both kinda embarrassed to tell people but now we thank God daily. One Wednesday I was still living in TN, and I just got back home from church feeling blah about myself. Thinking I was never ever going to find a good guy with morals and that all guys were the same. As I laid in my room a commercial came on TV about Eharmony. At first I laughed out loud and thought people were crazy for going online and meeting people. I thought why not? I will just go on and see what it's all about. All in fun, honestly, I didn't think anything would come of it. The very next morning I got on, and he was the first guy to message me. I looked at his profile and thought oh my word. I was nervous to talk to anyone "online" and scared to but something told me to. We had to answer questions after questions and then about a month later he finally got my number, and we started texting and talking on the phone. Finally, we decided to meet after we figured out each other wasn't crazy. Lol. Crazy thing is he only lived thirty minutes from my aunt who lives in AL, and I would of never knew If I didn't take a chance. We met and went and ate and played putt putt. We hit it off and two years later, he took me to Botanical Garden in Huntsville and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Best day of both of our lives til March 28th 2015 when we became husband and wife!!"

Favorite part of the day:
"Our favorite part of the day was when when I walked down the aisle, and we both finally got to see each other and the reaction cause we didn't see each other all day. My other favorite part is when we stood on each side of the wall and got to read the letters we wrote toeach other  before the wedding."

The groom's sister, Jessica, took photos for the couple. She was super easy to work with, and she is just getting started in the wedding business. Tony Hanes officiated the ceremony and decorated it as well. The bride's mother and grandmother decorated the reception. Their wedding cake was from Publix and was delicious! April 25, 2015: Ashley & Jeffrey Ham
Ashley & Jeff were married at St. Henry Catholic Church in Nashville, a beautiful church! I was filming a dance recital this weekend, so Casey spend the day with the couple. I was disappointed I couldn't attend this wedding, because Ashley & Jeff both went to the same medical school I did! We all graduated on May 9th, so that means that since they shared a last name at graduation and Ashley's name was before Jeff's in the alphabet, Ashley got to hood Jeff at graduation. It was SO sweet. Anyway, Ashley looked gorgeous on her wedding day. Her dress was strapless with a sweetheart neckline, and there was sparkle around her waist. The train was beautiful with lace detail. The girls wore long navy dresses and carried pink and white flowers. Ashley has such a sweet spirit, and you can tell it by just watching her "The Dress" video:

Their love story, as told by Ashley:
"Jeff and the boys (Matt, Austin, TJ) sat behind Lauren, Jade, and I from the first day of medical school. We became good friends throughout first year and the beginning of second year, but it wasn't until Lauren planted the seed in our heads that she recognized something between us that either of us thought to pursue anything. After the first basketball game together (orchestrated by Lauren) Jeff started courting me with flowers on Valentine's day, sweet dates for coffee after class, encouraging notes during stressful study months. We started dating in March before the school year ended and then got closer over the summer via phone calls and lots of texting. I fell in love with his family (especially his adorable niece) when they invited me on their family vacation at the end of the summer and was sure that this was something we wanted to last. Being in the same city for third year rotations was the biggest blessing. That year held a lot of ups and downs, but knowing we lived five minutes away from each other made everything better. We were able to go to church together every Sunday, cook meals together at his place or mine, and go to Nashville to spend time with my family often. Jeff proposed (a short version of the proposal story just wouldn't do it justice) shortly before we embarked on fourth year which, for us, involved LOTS of travel and long distance. It wasn't easy being apart for most of the year, but if forced us to make time for each other on weekends off and allowed us to grow even closer!"

Favorite part of the day:
"The beautiful ceremony which was filled with so much love. We absolutely loved having so many family and friends in one place and getting to share our special day. And of course the dance floor was fun too. :)"

MagnifyU Photography took photos that day, and Ashley & Jeff's photos are soooo pretty! Christi Smith did the girls' hair and make-up. Homestyle Bakery made the cake and the DJ was DJ DOUG. Thank you both so much for including us. I hope you both are settled into your new city and good luck starting residency next week!
