5 more weddings in July, what seems to be the hottest month of the year! Whew!



July 2, 2016: Samantha & Michael
Samantha & Michael were married at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Cookeville, TN; the reception was at Del Monaco Winery in Baxter, TN. The church is large and beautiful, and we always love filming at the Winery as well - it's a great venue space, inside and out! Samantha was beautiful in her white dress with jeweled tank sleeves and deep V neckline; her waist was surrounded by an intricate jeweled design that lead to a jeweled-design back as well. Her girls wore short silver-sparkled dresses. Michael and his groomsmen wore grey tuxes with a bright purple button up, with a bright blue and purple boutonnieres. Their day was pretty and fun and ended in fireworks and sparklers.

Their love story, as told by Samantha:
       "Mic and I met during our junior year of high school. A friend of mine set us up. The first time we met, we just drove around and got to know one another. We went on our first date at a Mexican restaurant, which was one of the only restaurants in my small hometown. Neither of us ate the salsa and chips because we were so nervous and if you know me, you know those are my favorite! About 2 weeks after we started hanging out on April 16, 2010, Mic asked me to be his girlfriend, and we have been together ever since!"

Favorite part of the day:
       "My favorite part of the day was driving to the winery with Mic after the ceremony was over. It was the first time we were alone together as husband and wife, and it was just so surreal. I was so at ease because I was seeing that everything had come together as I had imagined"


We worked with some awesome vendors for this wedding! Amber Rena Photography did their photos and did an amazing job as usual! She's so great to work with. They used the same food vendors as we did for our wedding: Blue Coast Burrito (Talk about some yummy tacos!!!) and Kathey's Kakes and Catering made the cake. Five Diamond Productions was the DJ, and we love them so much. They always make the reception SO fun. Shauna Driver from Lafayette, TN provided the bright, beautiful flowers. Congratulations again to Samantha & Michael! Here is their Intro:

July 9, 2016: Taylor & Justin
Taylor & Justin were married at The Grand Reserve in Lexington, Kentucky. The website's description of the space is: "There are so many cool things about this venue, you wont know what to look at first! It is loaded with so many different textures...  From the moment you walk in you can not help but notice the backlit 45′ x 12′ iron bar and steel bar. Look right and find the a 150-foot stretch of red brick. This wall was built in the 1870’s, it has with exposed limestone footings and 3 original distillery windows. Look left to find 2 linear miles of staggered bourbon barrel staves. This wall is like no other that you will see anywhere! Hanging from the ceiling are seven custom steel chandeliers that mimic bourbon barrel rings. Lastly, don’t miss the double doors that combine to weight of over 700 lbs. These solid oak doors look just like an oversize bourbon barrel!" It really was a great space to film. Taylor was gorgeous in her sweetheart neckline, jewel covered, fitted dress that had tulle at the bottom that flared below her hips. The girls wore long, cream-colored dresses with an elegant halter neckline. The men looked very sharp in their grey tuxes and gold ties. Justin's reaction after their first kiss during the ceremony was pretty priceless, and they both just looked like they enjoyed their entire day. Their dance floor stayed full and their wedding guests/party were fun to watch as well.

Their love story, as told by Taylor:
       "Justin and I are both University of Kentucky grads and we met while we were in college. We had the same friend group but didn’t date right off the bat. We were great friends that loved each other’s company. We were both the outgoing, loud people in the group that loved dancing and laughing. He played almost every sport growing up and I was a soccer girl so we shared a common interest in living an active lifestyle. Our personalities clicked, and our love took off. We found our purpose and strength through Christ as our relationship flourished."


Favorite part of the day:
       "To boil our day down to one favorite moment is so hard! Seeing each other for the first time during our first look was pure bliss. The craziness stopped for a moment, and we were able to have a great chat before we got back to the whirlwind. We absolutely loved walking into the reception and seeing all of our closest friends and family that have loved and supported us over the years. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better day!"

We worked with Ben Keeling Photography this day, a great photographer out of Lexington, KY. Angela Sallee was the wedding coordinator; not only was she great to work with on our end, but her multiple positive reviews from brides show how much they love her as well. July 16, 2016: Sara & Charles Smith

Sara & Charles were married at Bridgestone/Firestone Centennial Wilderness Area in Sparta, TN. It is a TWRA Wildlife Management Area in historic Scott's Gulf and is a GREAT place to get married. It has tons of outdoor space, a big red barn, perfect for a reception, and it also has a small house in which the bride got ready. We have filmed several weddings here, and they have all been beautiful; the backdrop is incomparable. Sara was beautiful in her sweetheart neckline, detail covered dress with a sparkle belt, full skirt, and with a long lace trimmed veil. The guys wore khaki pants with white shirts and handsome brown vests. Rain threatened all day, but held off with the humidity sticking around, which didn't seem to bother Sara or Charles much! The ceremony was centered around God, and Charles's sweet grandpa prayed for the couple at the end.

Their love story, as told by Sara:
       "When Charles and Sara think back to their story and how they met, one thing comes to both of their minds. God truly had HIS hand in their lives. They first met in 2010 at Matt and Amber’s apartment in Cookeville. Although Charles had his eye on Sara, she didn’t have a clue. Her heart was not ready for him at the time, and God knew this. Sara didn’t know, but Charles would ask Matt and Amber about her off and on for about a year or two. Unexpectedly one night they saw each other with Amber and Matt again. They both remember like it was yesterday. He was skinning a deer, and still laughs saying “It was a GREAT way for you to see me all bloody and not looking presentable.” Looking back, it is evident that Sara’s heart was ready as she began to look at Charles a little different than she had before. God had begun His work in their hearts. They hung out that night with friends, and the entire time he made her laugh and she was genuinely happy. He stuck close around her and seemed to make a point to get to know her more. He seemed different, in a good way, than any other man she had ever met before (besides her daddy). Amber even told Sara one morning that she thought he was SMITTEN over her. Sara had been praying without ceasing for God to send her the man she was going to marry. Obviously, God was answering both their prayers and they had no clue. They started officially dating on January 18, 2012. Charles did little things that reminded Sara of her Daddy like using toothpicks after dinner, singing in his handsome voice, and driving a Ford truck. She had been looking for a man like her daddy to sweep her off her feet. And Sara was the woman of Charles’s dreams. They both became more and more “smitten,” and both knew without a doubt they were in love. They began praying for God to show them His will of marriage for their lives. Charles proposed on Thanksgiving day 2015 with Sara’s entire family circled around them after prayer. It was so tender how he told her how thankful he was and how much he loved her. It touched her heart. They thank God for both of their prayers being answered. They thank Him for their unity in marriage. Without HIM they know they would be nothing and they give HIM all the glory."

       "Our favorite part of our wedding day was our first look. :) "

First of all, the details of this wedding were fantastic! Between Sara, the wedding planner (Heather Copeland), and the florist (Deborah's Designs), everything looked amazing! We worked with Lindsay and Brandon Photography, with whom we somehow had never worked before! They are based out of Cookeville as well, so it's very strange that we are just now meeting them. They are both a joy to be around - so professional, kind, and full of life. The pictures from the Smith wedding are outstanding. Linda's Cakes and Catering provided the food; Phyllis Yap made the cake and cake pops. Tyrone Carver was the DJ who kept the part going, and ceremony musicians were Dimas Aranda, Todd Arnold, and Glenda Nelms. Here is their beautiful Intro:

 

 

 

 

 

 

July 23, 2016: Hannah & Kelby
Hannah & Kelby were married at the Talon Winery in Lexington, KY. This venue offers both indoor and outdoor spaces and is so pretty! Casey spent all morning with Hannah and her bridesmaids as they got ready for the day. Hair was by Tie the Knot Hair, and all of the girls' looked fantastic. Hannah's dress was from Twirl Lexington and looked amazing on her. It had a sweetheart neckline with a lace overlay with lace sleeves; it fit her snugly past her hips then flared out in a full skirt. The back was see through with numerous buttons down her spine. The girls wore a periwinkle blue dress, all with different necklines - I loved them! The bouquets were gorgeous, pastel colored and full, made by Natural Endeavors. Here is Hannah's video!



 

Their love story, as told by Hannah:

       "Kelby and I have known each other since middle school and even had classes together in high school, but didn't become close friends till freshman year of college at UK. We had mutual friends that always hung out together and pretty much saw each other every weekend. It wasn't until after 2 years of friendship that we would finally admit our feelings for each other and we then begin dating on August 16, 2013. Exactly two years later, on August 16th, Kelby took me on a day long date that later led to his proposal at Talon Winery. He had everything perfectly planned out and even had all of their friends and family waiting for them for a surprise engagement party."

 

Favorite part of the day:

       "There are too many moments to pick, but I really loved our first look because it gave us time to be with each other alone and it just really calmed my nerves for the rest of the day seeing him before the ceremony. I of course loved the reception and getting to celebrate and have so much fun with all of our friends and family. The whole day was perfect regardless of the 100 degree heat!"

July 23, 2016: Emily & Zach
Emily & Zach were married at Allardt Presbyterian Church in Allardt, TN, and the reception was at the home of the bride's parents. This wedding was special for me, because Emily is in my "Stage One family." We have been dancing together/with Ms. Jennifer since we were very young, and we have grown up dancing in classes together. Emily has a fantastic personality; she's honest, sassy, kind, and a hard-worker, and she made the most beautiful bride! Her dress was smooth and elegant, with a sweetheart neckline, a jeweled belt, and a full skirt. The girls wore one-shouldered, long dresses in different shades of purple, and the guys wore grey tuxes. She and Zach have been together forever, and we were all so happy to watch them tie the knot.

Their love story, as told by Emily:
       "Zach and I went to school together from first grade through high school. We were only classmates until around the 7th grade when he got the hots for me. ;-) In 7th grade we started "going out" which consisted of sitting beside each other at school events, occasionally going to the movies on Friday nights, and talking to one another only a little. For Christmas that year, Zach got me a silver bracelet that said "I Love You". Before 7th grade was over, our love had fizzled, and we moved on to a friendship from then. We stayed friends for awhile, but we went our separate ways at some point in high school. About midway through our senior year of high school, we started talking again and hanging out. Soon we decided to make things official and began dating. That summer, Zach decided to join the Navy and left a year later. That began the real trial of our relationship, but we made it through five years of long distance including a 9 month deployment. That Christmas he was deployed he sent me a silver bracelet just like the one he gave me in 7th grade. He had found it while in the UAE. Those two bracelets are now some of my most prized possessions. A year later, Zach proposed. We were ready to get married, but had to keep pushing back the date so I could finish graduate school. Finally there was a light at the end of the tunnel for me with grad school, so we set the date for July 2016. I love our story so much. We both grew to appreciate the long distance and the time we waited to get married. It allowed us to grow and mature individually and together. Now Zach and I are ready and looking forward to our life together. (Sorry, that's not too short!)"

Favorite part of the day:
       "I have two favorites because I'm not good at favorites. My first favorite part was walking down the aisle to Zach. I was so happy to be in that moment because we both had waited so long for it. I was so sure about it, too. I was confident in our choice to marry each other and knew how much he loves me. Also, he looked pretty handsome! My second favorite part was our reception. I looked around and saw our family and friends there to celebrate with us enjoying themselves. The decorations we had worked so hard on looked just the way I had pictured. There was a feeling of happiness all around me that I hope everyone could feel. It was a good day."

We worked with Brittany Lea Photography for this wedding, and they were great to work with. The wedding cake was made by Three Sister's Cakes, and the groom's cake was actually made by the groom! The reception was at Emily's parent's house, and even though it had poured the rain earlier in the day, it didn't dampen anyone's spirits. Everyone pitched in and cleaned up before the reception, and it was perfect there, with a small forest of trees that provided a beautiful backdrop for photos. These two were made for each other. June Weddings 2016

SIX weddings in June! We loooove June. It's our wedding month, too. ;)


June 4, 2016: Rebecca & Jason Vaughn
Rebecca & Jason were married at DelMonaco Winery & Vineyard in Baxter, TN. We love this beautiful indoor/outdoor venue and have been honored to film there a few times. The staff there is fabulous and always makes the transition from indoor ceremony (like this one) to indoor reception so quickly and smoothly. There is also a great outdoor space, and, of course, the gorgeous vineyard. Jason and Rebecca seemed to care about one thing almost as much as they cared about each other: the guests. They stayed and talked with the guests right up until the ceremony time and then spent a great amount of time talking with everyone at the reception as well. It was just one big family and friend reunion, and it was wonderful. We should also talk about Rebecca's dress; it was gorgeous with beautiful pearl and rhinestone detail over the bodice with a scalloped sweetheart neckline and a skirt that filled out at the bottom. Loooooved it.

Their love story, as told by Rebecca:
       "Jason and I met when I was hired at the company where we currently works. He was my supervisor for the first year I was here. Eventually I was transferred, and our friendship was able to become something more."

Favorite part of the day:
       "Our favorite part of our wedding day was the ceremony. It could not have been more special and personal to us."

We worked with Shane Hawkins Photography, whom we had never worked with before. Both Shane and his wife, Beth, are very kind and great at their job; it made the day so enjoyable! June 4, 2016: Karley & Paul Berard
Karley & Paul had a destination wedding in Nashville, TN! Karley was one of the most beautiful brides I've ever seen with a Martina Lliana fit and flare wedding gown, covered in lace and tulle with a sweetheart neckline and a low back. Her veil was stunning and covered with lace trim and sat delicately on her head. Her bridesmaids wore white shirts with scalloped necklines tucked into blush pink skirts from White House Black Market - so unique! Paul and his guys looked handsome in navy Calvin Klein and tuxes and bow ties. The chapel was SO quaint. It was small but intimate and perfect.

Their love story, as told by Karley & Paul:
       "Her story...It was summer and I was 20. Since I didn’t go to high school in the area, my friends were few and far in between during my three summers that I spent living at my grandparents house in Rome. So when I got a call from Steve Schooley, an acquaintance I had talked briefly with at a party in Madison, I was ecstatic to have something to do on this 4th of July. Usually I was always trying to hang out with my sisters and their younger, slightly annoying friends, much to their displeasure. Well I was invited to a 4th of July party in Rome, WI and it was a lake party with boating and food and beer and maybe some dancing, which I thought sounded just dandy. Looking back, I probably should have asked who would be at the party, because none of his “girl” friends showed up, or thought maybe Steve’s trying to “see about me” as a girlfriend. But that never crossed my mind. Like I said, I was 20 which equates to young and naïve. And I’m glad that I wasn’t the precocious young adult that my parents had always wanted, because I wouldn’t be marrying the man of my dreams next year.
       "When I arrived at Tyler’s house, we sat outside on the back deck overlooking Lake Camelot. I had on yoga pants and a swimsuit top, and was actually a bit nervous since, as a tweener at East Junior High, I had remembered Tyler who was two grades ahead of me. Tyler was definitely “cool” and I was totally “not as cool”. So Steve says that we are waiting on some people, and we wait. I’m eating something, and two guys walk out to the deck. Both guys have long curly hair that would be called “10’s shag”, a popular haircut at the time for twelve year old boys (although, I am a sucker for curls). Paul sits in a chair across from me and we introduce ourselves. He’s wearing gym shorts, no shirt, Birkenstock sandals, and a punk style earring that was a bar across the top of his right ear with two black pearls on either side (Maybe an ode to his Dashboard Confessional days?). There was less than lukewarm interest at this point.   
       "An hour and a few beers later we were on the boat. Tyler was driving, and Paul decided to sit next to me. I could tell that he was a really nice guy. He made me laugh, and was definitely silly. It was right around sunset time Paul looked at me, cracked a joke (and I can’t remember about what) and smiled. I don’t know if it was the sunset colors glowing behind his head, his curls blowing in the wind or the beer, but I fell head over heels with that smile. I giggled. Hours later after the fireworks, the guys decided they wanted to go out to the pub so I offered to drive. Mrs. Dahl was very concerned about my state, until I walked the line for her. Yes, Mrs. Dahl made me walk the line for her, and I passed with flying colors thanks to all of those ballet classes mom put me in. So we all jump into my 1980’s something gray Thunderbird and we go to good ‘ol Trails End. We managed to run into a few problems on the way…like for example, everybody was in their swim wear and was still all wet, or someone was missing a shirt or a shoe, and… a cop sees that my back brake light is out and pulls us over. Yes, we’re pulled over by a Rome cop.
       "I roll down the window and proceed with the usual: the license, the registration, the story. Story was that I told my dad about the light, and he was planning on fixing it tomorrow. I didn’t know how to fix a brake light, so I had to wait. The cop looks at me, and takes a look at all the guys stuffed into my car, and I see the pensiveness creep into his face. You know, it’s a little ironic that in these situations, when there is a woman driving a car for a bunch of drunk males, she looks responsible. But at every other time, we’re considered irresponsible drivers. Whatever the cause was for this cop’s mercy, I do not know but am grateful. He let us all go and told me to get my light fixed. Bam! Just like that my cool meter rocketed up to a ‘very cool’ status. My street cred was on the up. I stopped at my nana’s house on the way and asked if my mom, who was staying there, could drive us to the pub so that I could relax, and she agreed. So she drove us down the block to Trail’s End, to an empty pub where we sat and talked and drank.
       "So at this point in the story of how we met, I knew I liked Paul, but if you’ve ever met Paul you would know that he will be clueless until at least two weeks later when I just have to plain ‘ol ask him on a date because he’s just not getting the hint. I didn’t want to come off as too interested at first so I just tried to play it cool and talk to everyone. My mom was on the other side of the bar talking to Paul and taking shots of water with him as a joke. He also bought me a vodka shot, and we all did our shots at the same time. Jokester. After that, my mom took me home and then took the guys back to Mrs. Dahl’s house, and the night was over. The next morning was unbearable. I realized that I forgot to get his number. After all that! So what do I do? Call his younger brother and feign that I needed his number so that I could tell him where his car was that morning because I was certain that he had forgotten where it was from the night before. I’m not sure if I ended up getting the number from Matt or from Steve, but I did get his number.
       "And that’s that. Seven years later, lots of long distance, and a lot of growing up later, here we are getting married. I couldn’t be happier to find someone who is truly my equal and loves every bit of me. He’s the most amazing man I’ve ever met, inside and out.
       "His story...On a hot summer July 4th day after college I met Karley at a friend's house. It was a fun filled day and night, ending with Karley eloquently talking to the cops at midnight before taking us all home. I was instantly drawn to Karley, as was all of my other friends. Luckily for me, she was also drawn to me, or, as she puts it, picked me. She made sure to let my friends know to have me call her. We subsequently met up in Madison during my last summer before law school. Soon after meeting Karley my friends all knew I was captivated by her. I wanted to spend every day with her. We had a great summer and enjoyed many fun nights and not so fun mornings. I knew Karley was someone special and continue to believe the same today. I can't wait to see what the future has in store for our two adventurous souls."

       "Our ceremony and Paul's face when he saw me!"

Their fun wedding reception was at Aerial in downtown Nashville, an amazing rooftop venue that overlooks the busy streets of Nashville. Brandon Giles played at the reception, an amazing pianist with his rock band...Casey's favorite part? When he, literally, lit the piano on fire! It was one of Casey's favorite reception bands ever. We worked with Lindsay Campbell photography at this wedding; Lindsay is a sweet and SUPER talented photographer, and her photos from the Berard wedding are s-t-u-n-n-i-n-g. Here is their Intro!

June 11, 2016: Christine & Steven Moore
Christine & Steven were married at Jesus Our Risen Savior Catholic Church in Spartanburg, South Carolina. This was our first wedding in South Carolina, and we always get so excited about filming in new states! Christine was a sweet bride, and her husband Steven is actually a professional billiards player, which was so cool! Christine wore a beautifully textured gown with a soft sweetheart neckline, and Steven wore a classic black tuxedo.

Their love story, as told by Christine:
       "When I was first introduced to Stevie in late 2008, the very first thought that went through my mind was: 'Wow, I am going to date this guy...' But life was busy at the time, as I was going into my 3rd year of chiropractic school and also in the midst of ending a previous long term relationship. Stevie was just coming out of a long relationship as well, and each of us were preoccupied with our own lives at the time. I did make a point to visit Red's Bar & Grill (where we were first introduced) one more time in 2008, in hopes of catching another glimpse of Stevie. As luck would have it, he was there, and my then boyfriend asked if I would let Stevie sample some moonshine we had. We spent about 10 intense minutes joking and sipping moonshine... the feeling was so intense, we knew we had to separate (I was still in a relationship I was planning to leave). We carried on with our busy lives, and on March 15th, 2009 I remember pouring my heart out to God at church that Sunday morning, asking him to 'Please help me move on and be the woman God wanted me to be!' After ending my previous relationship at the beginning of that year, I thought I would never love again... but thankfully God showed me different, and He did so quickly. I had just finished my 3rd State board exam that weekend of March 15th and was exhausted, but my friends convinced me to go downtown on that Sunday night for some live music at Sonny's Brick Oven Pizza... And boy am I glad they did! As I sat there talking on the phone with a girlfriend, I saw Stevie walk through the front door! It's amazing how in the midst of ending my previous relationship and working hard to pass my boards, I literally forgot all about meeting Stevie until he walked through that door at Sonny's Brick Oven Pizza. And to show up that very same day as I poured my heart out to God, asking for help to move on... looking back I know it was all a real blessing. I walked up to him, re-introduced myself, and we enjoyed the evening talking all night with my friends. He walked me to my car, asked me for my number, and he's been calling me ever since! ;)

       "After I graduated chiropractic school in March of 2010, things went a little haywire as I contemplated jobs in Florida and Texas. I ended up moving back home to take a job outside of Asheville, NC, and the stress of everything ended up in Stevie and I taking a break from our relationship. A year later, we missed each other and decided to try again. Only after another year, Stevie had to move to Las Vegas for work. We separated yet again, as the long distance was not something we felt we could practically make work. Stevie spent over a year in Las Vegas. It was a long time for each of us to focus on ourselves, and what we each wanted. The whole time I missed him dearly, but it was a blessing to be able to really have time to be by myself. I know during that time of separation, God was working in both of our hearts and lives. In September of 2013, I accepted a job position that brought me back to Spartanburg SC to teach at the chiropractic college I once attended myself. A few months later, Stevie's job in Las Vegas had ended and he also came back home to Spartanburg! It was fate, we were both back to where we first met, and we knew this time it was forever! We got together, and it was like we never separated. He proposed to me on June 14th, 2014. We postponed our wedding date until I was finished with my post graduate degree, but we were SO READY and excited to share that special day with our family and friends."

We worked with Farrah's Photography and Event Services for this wedding, and we are super fond of Farrah and all that she does. Here is a link to photos from the Moore wedding! The reception was at Maddox Vineyards, and Event Rentals, Inc provided the tent and lighting. Moe's Original Bar B Que - Asheville, NC provided the fantastic food. Lisa Foster Floral Design created the pretty bouquets. The entire thing was coordinated by the Foothills Bridal Connection, they are SO great to work with! Here is Christine & Steven's Intro!

June 18, 2016: Adrienne & Andrew
Adrienne & Andrew were married at Homestead at Cloudland Station in Chickamauga, GA. TheKnot website has a great description for this venue: "Located near the foot of Lookout Mountain, the Homestead at Cloudland Station is a Chickamauga, Georgia, setting featuring a rustic barn that was originally hand-pegged by Amish craftsmen more than 150 years ago. Just a few minutes from the scenic downtown of Chattanooga, Tennessee, this accessible venue boasts a combination of agrarian charm and contemporary comfort. Open for private wedding celebrations, this elegant facility is equipped to handle ceremonies and receptions." It was our first time at this venue, and it was beautiful! Casey spent all day with the sweet bride and her bridesmaids. Hair was by Salon 30A, Abbi Crawford and Summer Eller. Makeup was by Courtney Brice and Chelsea Sadler. These ladies turned Adrienne and her girls into stunning beauties for Adrienne & Andrew's big day. I LOVED Adrienne's dress! It was two piece I believe, with a short, fitted lace dress with a full tulle skirt that she wore on top, which was removed for their reception exit. Her bridesmaids wore comfy coral dresses with straps that you could change around to make your own style - they looked really good in all their different strap configurations! Their love story, as told by Adrienne:

       "Andrew and Adrienne met while in college at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC). However, they didn't start dating until Adrienne's 2nd Senior Year at UTC, aka, in 2012. They hit it off on their first trip to Mardi Gras together. When they came back from Mardi Gras, they went on their first real date. On their first date together, they saw a movie, got ice cream at The Ice Cream Social downtown and walked the walking bridge. Three years later, Andrew convinced Adrienne they were going to play bocce ball with their friends in Coolidge Park, but before they decided to walk the bridge. While on that bridge Andrew got down on one knee and asked Adrienne to spend the rest her life with him. Adrienne of course said yes! Moments after their proposal some of their closest friends met them on the bridge and popped champagne bottles."

Aprons Strings Catering provided the delicious food, and Kimmee's Cakes provided the beautiful cakes. We worked with Shannon Smith from Shannon Smiles Photography, who provided the couple with some great photos from their day. We partied with Terry Haywood from DJ Terry at the reception. Chattanooga Tent Company provided the tent, and The Meeting Company provided the chairs. June 18, 2016: Lauryn & Evan Betterton
THIS wedding. As Lauryn would say, "I love it so much." Lauryn & Evan were married at the Nashville City Club in downtown Nashville, TN. The view from this venue is so impressive, and you the couple got married right in front of the window, so you could admire the view the entire time. This wedding was super special to me, because Lauryn and I have been close friends for, like, 17+ years. We used to take gymnastics together when we were little, and then we danced together for many years after that. We look a little similar; so much so that people would often get us confused in photos of us from the side or of us from far away. She asked me to be one of her bridesmaids, and I was super honored to be in her wedding. I love this girl so much, and she looked A-MAZING on her and her long-time love's wedding day. Her dress. was. so. stunning. The top was fitted to her waist with a soft sweetheart neckline and was covered in pearls and clear jewels, and the skirt was soft and full, with many layers. Lauryn was a princess. We wore long coral colored dresses with a deep V; they were super sassy and pretty. I love how Lauryn cries in this video right before she put her make-up on just because she thought about marrying her beau. I also love the bridesmaids' first look, even though I'm in it. Their love story, as told by Lauryn
       "Lauryn and Evan met in 2008 when she was a freshman and Evan was a sophomore in high school. After a year of begging and pleading, Lauryn finally decided to give Evan a chance.They officially started dating on April 13, 2009. Lauryn was 16, and Evan was 17. The two grew up but (thankfully) didn't grow apart. Lauryn went to school at Belmont University in Nashville, and Evan went to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Because Evan is always a gentlemen, he spent most of his weekends in Nashville, because Lauryn hated leaving her favorite city. In 2010, Evan got the perfect job in Columbus, Ohio and made the move north. Their long-distance relationship became a little more long distance. On April 27, 2015 during one of Evan's weekends in Nashville, he got down on one knee and asked Lauryn to spend the rest of her life with him. She sobbed uncontrollably and then said yes. In July 2015, Lauryn took her dream job with Phi Mu Fraternity, which then took her all over the country. Long-distance became super long-distance. After 7 years of love and airplane tickets, Lauryn and Evan (FINALLY) got married on June 18, 2016. They were surrounded by the people they love the very most in the world, and it was far and away the best day of their lives."

       "You're making me pick a favorite part?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I'm giving you a list. I'm so sorry, but I can't pick just one. Pick what is your favorite out of this list:

Jennifer Dotson-Creter, our dance instructor from Stage One Dance Studio was the day of coordinator. She has helped to coordinate all of our weddings. The venue design coordinator was Gina McCane, who made everything so lovely. Their photographer was the fabulously talented Wendy Twit. Lauryn recently had time to post all of the photos from the wedding, and I love every single one of them. Sparta Flowers & Gifts provided the elegant bouquets (I still have mine, dried out, of course). The pretty cake was by Dulce Desserts. Chair rental was by HH Elegant Events. Lauryn & Evan's music was excellent. Audio rental was by Nashville Sound Rental; ceremony music was by Maggie Adams, who has a beautiful voice; the reception DJ was Ross Collier; cocktail hour music was performed by Jim Trace and the Makers (THEY ARE SOOOO GOOD). June 25, 2016: April & Garrett Horner
We were partial to this wedding as well, because Casey & Garrett have been friends for yyyeeeaaarrrssss now, and we were both so happy to see him marry his sweet bride, April. April & Garrett were married at the Knoxville Zoo. Casey was in the wedding as a groomsman, and he hung out with the guys all day, and I got to be with the girls all day. April is one of the kindest people you will ever meet, and all of her bridesmaids were very sweet as well. They had a great time getting ready this morning, and all helped with each other's hair and makeup. April was a lovely bride and was simply glowing, with pearls sprinkled throughout her hair and wearing a strapless dress that wrapped around her waist, with a skirt that flowed out from her hips. Her girls wore flattering green dresses with white belts around their waists. April created hers and her bridesmaids' bouquets herself with bright blue and yellow daisies. Their love story, as told by April:
       "April and Garrett met in Kuwait, a small and very hot bit of the Middle East. Both had left the US in search of adventure, by way of teaching abroad. They soon realized that they had a lot in common, but also were well balanced by the things they did not have in common. After a whirlwind of dating and international traveling, Garrett proposed on the trail to Annapurna Base Camp in Nepal. It must be true love, because April said yes, even though they were both on day nine without a shower! One international move to the Philippines and a year and a half later, they got married in the Knoxville Zoo surrounded by family and friends. They plan to live happily ever after, wherever after may be."

Favorite part of the day:
       "When Garrett pulled out a scroll during the vows! But my most favorite was just being surrounded by people who loved us and were happy to celebrate us. Since we live so far away, that time is really precious."

We loved this wedding because we love this couple. We are both so fond of Garrett and his fun personality and of these two together; they have such a unique love story. We worked with Katie Bohannon for photography, who did a great job. Ashley Hackney coordinated at the Knoxville Zoo. The DJ was was KnoxVegas - so fun! May 7, 2016: Melanie & Jeff Higgs
Melanie & Jeff were married at Grace Community Church. Casey and Jeff are first cousins and have been friends their entire lives, so it was really special to be able to film his wedding to his "better half," Melanie. We met the bride and her daughter a while back, and their relationship with Jeff is just so precious. They are a beautiful family together. Melanie wore an elegant dress with a high lace neckline; her daughter also looked so pretty in her white and beige dress and looked so happy to be a part of the big day. The men wore beige vests over white button-ups with khaki-colored pants with light blue ties. We love filming for family!

Their love story, as told by Melanie:
       "Jeff and I have known each other for 20 years. Beth and my mom worked together, and I was friends with his sisters. We grew up and went our own ways. We reconnected when I was serving on the board for Renovatus. We really enjoyed each other, and Jeff completely won Samantha [my daughter] over."

Favorite part of the day:
       "My favorite part was when Jeff said his vows to Samantha."

The groom's aunt, Jackie, decorated the church and does a fantastic job. The bride actually baked the cake, and her mom decorated it. Sarah, the groom's sister, helped getting the rest of the food prepared. It was a small, sweet wedding, and here is their Intro!

May 14, 2016: Ashley & Brett Sherfield
Ashley & Brett were married at the Bridgestone/Firestone Centennial Wilderness area in Sparta, TN. It is a "10,000-acre TWRA Wildlife Management Area in historic Scott's Gulf." In the last few years, couples have started to get married here, and it is a wonderful outdoor wedding venue. The view is to die for, and there is also a large red barn in which to have a reception. There is also a small building in which the wedding party can get married. It is a great place for a wedding, especially for those on a budget! I've known Ashley for several years as we have danced together at Stage One. She is sassy, kind, beautiful, and an awesome dancer and dance instructor. I love her to death, and I'm so glad she found Brett! She was stunning on her wedding day; her dress was strapless with a sweetheart neckline and a straight-lines skirt with a flowy overskirt. The girls wore short, V neck lavender dresses. The men wore grey tux pants and lavender (for Brett) or white (for the groomsmen) shirts with suspenders. And I have to mention the flower girl, our little Mariah, who is the daughter of our dance studio co-owner. She wore a (very!) full lilac tutu and was soooo adorable.

May 21, 2016: Nichole & Noah Repasky
Nichole and Noah were married at The Duck Pond Manor in Sparta, TN. This was our first time at this venue, and we loved it! According to the website, "Duck Pond Manor was originally known as the England Mansion. The mansion’s building process began in 1861(according to family stories)... [and] completed Dec 27, 1867. This 5000 sq ft mansion was built using bricks fired in a kiln right in the farm. The original Apple House still stands behind the mansion." The venue has two ceremony sites; one has a background of mountains and fields, and the other site is in front of the mansion. For the reception, they offer a tent that can accommodate 180 guests. Nichole was an amazing bride; not only was she beautiful, but she was laid back, kind, and kept a smile on her face all day long. It's easy to see why Noah loves her. Kelsey Lane from The Finery Salon did her hair as well as several of the bridesmaids, and JoAnn McCarty did their make up. Nichole's dress was so pretty; it had a sweetheart neckline with a see-through and lace higher neckline and small, see-through straps that created a deep-V in the back. Her veil was long and flowing. The bridemaids wore mint colored dresses, and the maids of honor (Nichole's sisters) wore coral dresses with lace covering the tops. By the way, this first look with Nichole and the bridesmaids is SUPER adorable. We showed them all off in Nichole's "The Dress" video:

Their love story, as told by Nichole:
       "Noah and I met through two mutual friends that were dating. One of my best childhood friends began dating his roommate, and after a few months, they set us up. Our first date was to Chili's, and Noah actually made up a lie to keep the date short "just in case it didn't work out." Haha. Thankfully though, it did, and our first date led to a second group date the next day with the same friends that set us up."

Favorite part of the day:
       "I really don't know what my favorite part of the day was. I LOVED every moment of it. The night before all us girls spent the night together at the venue, and I loved having that last night with my best friends and sisters just to be "us." My favorite part of the day was definitely our first look. That time was special to me because it was just the two of us. It kind of gave us a few minutes to take it all in. We laughed, cried, and prayed together, and I absolutely loved it."

 The wedding planner, Terra Ballinger, helped to put their perfect day together. Their photographer was Melissa Morgan from Melissa Morgan Photography. Their cakes were baked by Tom Wells, who is a friend of the bride's mother. 

Again, we loved this couple. Noah's personality showed through the entire day; he is hilarious, friendly, and caring. His love for Nichole outshined anything else that happened that day. They make a sweet little family with Noah's son, Ryder. They are expecting a new little one very soon!Here is their Intro with a heart-warming first look!

May 21, 2016: Morgan & Dillon Blind
Morgan & Dillon were married at Grace Baptist Church in Somerset, KY. I spent the morning with Morgan and her girls. We started off at the nail salon for manicures and pedicures, with the girls sipping their coffee from Baxter's, a popular local coffee shop in town. (Believe me, I drink Baxter's coffee like 1-5 times a week, every week!) The girls were all so fun to be around, and Morgan was in great spirits all morning. She smiled all day long, and any problems met throughout the day were quickly resolved, and Morgan was just happy that it was her wedding day. Hair was by The Hair Port Morgan's gorgeous deep sweetheart, lace-covered dress was from David's Bridal, as were the grey colored, long bridesmaids' dresses. Here is Morgan's "The Dress" video!

Their love story, as told by Morgan:
       "Dillon and I met in an accounting class at U of L. We didn't date right away, but I remember every single time I saw him because our eyes would meet, and it was this intense feeling. Finally, after seeing him on TV at a U of L basketball game, I decided I had to go on a date with that guy. So I Facebook messaged him, and a couple of weeks later, he invited me over to watch game 6 of the St. Louis Cardinals World Series win, and the rest is history."

Favorite part of the day:
       "Picking one favorite part of our big day is almost impossible. It was absolutely the best day ever. From getting ready with our best friends, to the first look with my dad, to seeing him up waiting for me at the end of the aisle, to our vows, the bubbles exit, to the toasts, cake, dancing, and the sparkler exit it was absolutely magical. It truly was the best day ever. But I have to pick...
       "My favorite part of the wedding was right after the ceremony and group pictures when it was just Dillon and I taking pictures and video, plus you and the wondeful Amanda May. The feeling of pure joy and peace we felt was incredible. I've never felt that happy and just in the moment."


Morgan and Dillon were so wonderful to work with, and the entire day was so fun. Their reception was held at Hal Rogers Fire Training Center.  Sassy Spoons was the caterer, and I can personally vouch for how delicious the food was. I also had the chance to meet Amanda from Amanda May Photography. She. is. awesome. She was so kind, upbeat, and her photos are just incredible. I was so glad to spend the whole day with her as well. May 28, 2016: Ashley & Shaun Hayes
Ashley & Shaun were married at Meadhaven in Knoxville, TN. From its website, "Meadhaven was built in 1851. It’s classic pre-civil war architecture, gorgeous gardens, and lake-view backdrop make it the perfect spot for any event. Brides will especially find Meadhaven a perfect venue for their ceremony or reception. There are multiple ceremony locations at Meadhaven from the dock to the orchard!" This venue is really beautiful, and we are glad to have had the opportunity to film there! Foothills Bridal was both the coordinator and the decorator and used decorations from the bride's parent's antique collection. We have worked with them a few times, and they are always a joy to work with; everything runs so smoothly! Ashley was a beautiful bride in a sparkly halter dress, and the groom wore a handsome seersucker tux. It was a great day!

Their love story, as told by Ashley:
       "Shaun and I had dated for over 4 years when getting married. We became acquainted via mutual friends, actually conversation for the first time via Facebook. We Facebooked for 1-2 months, then finally met after a few failed attempts. We have been together since! We got engaged 5/2015 at Hilton Head."

Favorite part of the day:
       "I loved the first look for Shaun and I. I also loved dancing with my Dad and my daughter, and Shaun dancing with his grandmother and step mom. Sorry, I know that's more then 1, but I love them equally for different reasons."

April Weddings 2016

April! The start of wedding (and dance recital) season. This is when things started to get a little crazy...but we sure love our job!


April 2, 2016: Katie & Tyler Swift
Katie & Tyler were married at the Historic Southern Railway Station in Knoxville, TN. We had filmed here one time before, and we loved it both times. It is such a unique venue! I loved the details of their wedding. Hair and makeup were by Shane Archer and Kristen Hurtubise from Grow Knoxville Salon. The bridesmaids wore beautiful bright blue patterned dresses, and Katie wore a lace covered wedding gown with a deep V in the back. Katie's dress was altered by Altermyheart. The girls also carried bright, colorful flowers from Sassafras Flowers. This wedding was intimate and sweet, and their love story. 

Their love story, as told by Katie:

       "Very long story short, it was a total 'God thing.'  Tyler and I were set up by a very unlikely source at just the right time for both of us.  We both grew up in Knoxville but had never met.  He's four years younger than me, so our paths had just never crossed.  In the fall of 2014, I was living in Atlanta, and Tyler was here in Knoxville.  Rita Duncan, a woman who worked with Tyler at his family's business and also attended church with my parents, (taught me in Sunday School when I was a little girl), got it in her head that Tyler and I might be a good match.  She prayed about it, talked to my mom about it, and eventually got a "yes" from both of us to being set up.  The first time Tyler called me, just to set up a time to meet, we talked for about an hour.  Our next phone call, before we met, was about three hours long, for my entire drive from Atlanta to Knoxville.  We met for a blind date in downtown Knoxville on November 14, 2014, and we haven't stopped talking since.  We spent the next 10 months alternating weekends between Atlanta and Knoxville to see each other.  Then, while at Disney World at the end of September 2015 with some friends, Tyler proposed.  I moved to Knoxville and into my folks' basement at the end of October.  Over the next five months, we planned our wedding and bought our first house, which we spent our first night in on the day we came back from our honeymoon in St. Lucia.  Our marriage is just another reminder of God's faithfulness and the fact that His plans are always so much better than my own.  I am so grateful to be married to my best friend."

Favorite part of the day:

       "I can't really pick a favorite part of my wedding day... I was thrilled with how every detail came together, and I was incredibly surprised by just how calm and peaceful I felt the whole day.  Take a bunch of friends and family and put them at a beautiful venue in downtown Knoxville.  Add in some amazing flowers, tasty food, delicious cake and great music, (complete with a few choice 90's R&B hits)... and we couldn't think of a better setting to say, "I Do" to forever with each other."

The cake was made by Esther Kant of Sweet Manna Cakes.  Music was by Special Notes Entertainment Agency, and catering was by Bradford Catered Events. Congratulations, again, you two!

April 8, 2016: Dana & Ross Kazmierzak

Dana & Ross were married at The Lodge at Brother’s Cove in Sevierville, TN. The bride said, "We both love the Smoky Mountains and thought Sevierville, Tennessee was the perfect destination wedding once we located The Lodge at Brother’s Cove." This venue was spectacular; the view was so perfect. Casey spent all morning with Dana and her bridesmaids, and it was an easy morning, which doesn't always happen! Dana was beautiful, with her unique bridal hair in a side braid/twist, her blue high heels, and her dress with a deep sweetheart neckline, a deep V in the back, and lace overlay with lace sleeves. her bridesmaids framed her well in their long blush pink dresses. Their love story, as told by Dana:

       "It’s funny… Ross and I cannot remember the first time we met. We say this because we had always heard about the other through our mutual friends, but the first photographic evidence we have is from my College Graduation party. Ross’s best friends from high school turned out to be my best friends in college, so it was only a matter of time before he and I crossed paths. About a year and half later at a friend’s end of summer volleyball party in 2011 is where we finally ‘saw’ each other. Our first date was at his house, since he claimed to be a master in the kitchen, he offered to make me dinner, and I could bring a movie to watch. He made a delicious Chicken Parmesan and, well, my end of the deal is where it goes bad. I solicited advice from my best friend, who also knew him years before I did, about his taste in movies. She said I should definitely bring a 'guy movie.' So, I picked Tron. Within the first few minutes, he was looking at me like ‘I would not have guessed this from her, this is going to be a long 2 hours’ and I am looking at him like, ‘This is going to be the longest 2 hours of my life.' It was clear, we were both sitting in awkward silence and staring at the TV. About 10 minutes into the movie, he finally asks, 'So, you are into sci-fi movies?' and I bust out nervous laughing and spill the beans about talking to my friend and trying to pick out a 'guy movie.' We ended up turning it off and watching a good ole’ romantic comedy!

      "Fast forward three and half years to Valentine’s Day 2015. I planned our first couples massage, and he planned to make us dinner, Shrimp Scampi. This was pretty much the normal for every Valentine’s Day since we began dating, I chose the activity and he makes one of my favorite dinners. After we got back to our house, Ross was in the kitchen and I was flipping through Netflix trying to find something to watch after dinner. I was in sweatpants, Uggs, and my hair was still crazy from all the oils they used during the massage earlier that day. Ross hollered for me from the kitchen to come help him. I replied okay, but you know, just sat in the living room for a solid 2-3 minutes trying to make our selection for the night. Apparently, this entire time he was down on one knee waiting for me to enter the kitchen! He completely caught me off-guard and I just froze when I saw him there on one knee. Then my shock went away, and I just starting crying I was so happy. I am pretty sure he said really sweet things to me, but I don’t believe I heard a thing until he said those 4 words I had been dying to hear from him, 'Will you marry me?' Luckily, the video he thought he had going to record actually never started, so there is no photographic evidence of me being proposed to in my sweatpants!"

Favorite part of the day:
       "I am not sure if I can pick my favorite moment of our Wedding Day because the entire 1,440 minutes were perfect! From my girls and I starting the day off with an hour of Yoga with Instructor Jolynn, to putting on my wedding dress, to walking down the aisle seeing the man of my dreams waiting for me, to dancing our butts off for hours, to the very end of the night hanging with our friends back in the cabin. Even when it started raining right in the middle of our outdoor ceremony! It had not rained all day until those 10 minutes. All of guests ran into the Gazebo with us, where we laughed and finished our vows with everyone we love tucked in so close to us. When the rain dissipated, there was a full beautiful rainbow going overhead. I think those few minutes were my favorite part of our Wedding Day. Luckily, Casey Lemons was there to capture every moment for us. It was very comfortable with Casey, his personality makes you feel like you have known him for years. He was able to use my down time as the Bride to film precious moments that were happening elsewhere. I know my day was so perfect because I was able to watch it back through Casey's amazing work. April 16, 2016: Casey & Trevor Nash

Casey & Trevor were, sweetly, married at the church where they met: Calvary Baptist Church in Jefferson City, TN. The bride wore a beautiful modest dress with a full skirt and see-through lace, elbow-length sleeves. The bridesmaids wore navy lace dresses with elbow-length sleeves as well with pretty satin bows around the waist. The men wore grey suits with navy ties. The entire wedding was God-centered, intimate, and so special. We were so glad to be a part of this wedding, especially since the bride, Casey, and the videographer, Casey were high school friends!

Their love story, as told by Casey:
       "Trevor and I met at church two years ago. My grandmother actually set us up! I knew instantly he was special. We also had a mutual friend that we didn't realize we both knew who told Trevor about me and wanted to set us up, and when Trevor realized he was trying to set him up with 'that girl at church,' he 'took it as a sign' that he should ask me on a date. He messaged me on Facebook to see if I was 'the teacher' who knew our mutual friend. From then, we talked every day and went on our first date amonth later. The rest is history!"

Favorite part of the day:
       "My favorite part of our wedding day was seeing Trevor's reaction. He's typically pretty rock-solid in the emotions department, and tears began the minute the doors opened for my dad to walk me down the aisle. I also loved our families coming together to celebrate. We had such a beautiful wedding day."

April 30, 2016: Hillary & Andrew Butler
Hillary & Andrew had a small, intimate wedding, and I LOVED it. It was so special, and just the *feel* of it was amazing. Hillary said it best when she said, "It was very important that our wedding be a special and intimate celebration. In order to add those touches my sister and I created most of the decorations used, incorporating family tradition and heirlooms." One of these decorations was the birch arbor made by Daryl Dietz. It is seen early in the video. Ah-mazing. Hair and makeup were by Southern Bridal Collective. Hillary's dress was unique and outstanding. Covered in lace with a high neck and a vintage feel, it was one of my favorites of the year. The bright, bold flower arrangements were created by Cottonwood Floral. It rained on their wedding day, however, you couldn't break the bride or groom's spirits for anything.

Their love story, as told by Hillary:
       "Our love story - We met while working together and became friends first. One night he asked if I wanted to grab dinner and go to a birthday celebration in Nashville for one of his friends. There was this easy-going connection that seemly happening naturally. A few days later he took me to Sweet CeeCee's, and the ice cream wasn't the only sweet thing that day We've been together ever since!"

Favorite part of the day:
       "Favorite part for Andrew was the surprise song. I collaborated with my sister's boyfriend, Tim Durham, to write a song for Andrew. I surprised him with an acoustical performance during the reception.
       "My favorite part was definitely surprising Andrew with the song and all the little family heirlooms. I wore my mother's wedding dress and veil. My earrings were handed down from a close family friend and are a 100+ years old. The hanky and garter were from my grandmother's wedding day. I wore a ring on my right hand that was my great aunt's engagement ring and my wedding band is an anniversary ring that my dad had given my mom when they were married."

Photography was by McDonald Weddings; Ashley is fantastic, and we adore her and her photos. Catering was by Judge Bean's BBQ, and the wedding cheesecake (yes, cheesecake!) was made by David Durham. Here is their sweet Intro!

January & February Weddings 2016

Finally in 2016 for our blog! And while I am still SO far behind (It's October, people.), I still think all of our couples deserve a blog post!

January 16, 2016: Jessica & Brad Rose
Jessica & Brad were married at Woodlawn Baptist Church, and their reception was at The Reserve at Bluebird Hill in Knoxville, TN. This reception venue describes itself very well: "From simple elegance to extraordinaire, imagine your wedding or reception in our beautiful hillside venue... The Reserve at Bluebird Hill opened its doors five years ago with the intent of creating lifetime celebrations. As a bride and groom, choosing your wedding venue is one of the most important decisions of the planning process. We offer four different ceremony locations to accommodate your style and guest count. The Reserve at Bluebird Hill offers the perfect location for every bride’s style." The bride wore a GORGEOUS dress. It had a rounded neckline with lace with sleeveless lace covering her shoulders with a keyhole back; the top was adorned with sparkles, with an amazing rhinestone and pearl waist. The skirt was soft and flowing and full. I loved it so much; it came from The White Room in Lebanon, TN. Her bridesmaids wore long dresses in different shades of purple from Alfred Angelo, and the men wore dark grey suits from Jos. A Bank.

Their love story, as told by Jessica:
       "We had known each other throughout college at TN Tech due to mutual friends, but on our group spring break trip in 2012, we really hit it off. My best friend Danica introduced us, and the rest is history. We started dating that summer, I finished my time at Tech, and we moved to GA for jobs. The summer of 2014, we took a family vacation to the same beach that we started our journey. We got engaged the day after my birthday, and he surprised me with having my parents come down so that we could have our family surrounding us! It was the sweetest day I think I've ever had."

Favorite part of the day:
       "My favorite part of the day was just being with those that are closest to Brad and me. We have always been centered around our family and friends and having them there is what made our day so special. I also really loved our Unity cord that we did. It was so unique, special, and meaningful to our relationship with God surrounding us."

We worked with two of our favorite photographers, the couple that makes up Zach and Sarah Photography. You have to check them out to know how fabulous they really are! Here was the sneak peak from the Rose wedding. The caterer was Buddy’s Catering. The wedding cake was tiers of white with different textures, and the groom's cake was TN Vols themed in a TN shape (aaawwweeesssoommmeee); the cakes were made by Sweet Beginnings by Elaine Miller. Overall, Casey had a great time at this wedding. Here is their Intro video!

February 6, 2016: Adrian & Jonathan McGill

Adrian & Jonathan were married at the First United Methodist Church in Cookeville, TN. This church is one of the most beautiful ones in Cookeville, and we have filmed here a few times now. The stained glass and the wood décor on the ceilings are just so elegant and pretty. The men wore handsome grey tuxes with silver ties. The girls wore long charcoal grey dresses with long sleeves, so pretty. Adrian was gorgeous, in a lace covered, fit and flare dress with a high lace neckline; while outside, she wore a white shawl around her shoulders (It was cold, after all!). The little flower girl was darling.They also had a classic get away car that we loved.

Their love story, as told by Adrian:
       "Jonathan and I are from the same home town. We did not know each other well in high school, but knew of each other. At a mutual friend's wedding in September 2014, we saw each other. We were both single and a mutual friend there gave him my number a few weeks later. He called me, and we really hit it off. Our first date was the day before Thanksgiving in 2014, and we were engaged in July 2015. We did not want a long engagement so we set the big day for February 6, 2016. It was the most perfect day we could've ever asked for!"

The wedding coordinator was Bobbye Moore. The photographer was Once Like A Spark - I am so impressed by this photographer! We had never worked with them before, however, the photos from this wedding are so stunning. I especially love her detail shots. Here's a link to the McGill wedding photos. The wedding cake was made by Melanie Greene, the groom's cake was from Ralph's Donuts (some of the best donuts in town!!!), and coffee was from Broast in Cookeville. Here is their wedding Intro! November & December Weddings 2015

Late fall/winter months are usually "slow" as far as weddings go, but we had three November weddings and two in December!



November 7, 2015: Jamie & Caleb Collins
Jamie & Caleb were married at The Plantation Barn of 1810 in Morristown, TN, which is self-described as "a touch of southern elegance and rustic charm." We love this venue, and we are impressed by the details of the decor every time we film there. Jamie & Caleb's wedding was no exception. Casey hung out with Jamie and her bridesmaids all day that day. Jamie's sentimental heart showed through many times throughout the day as she smiled brightly and/or shed some tears at small, touching parts of her day. One of those things was the book her Maid of Honor made for her called "Letters to the Bride" where all the bridal party girls, her mother, and the groom wrote letters for the book. Jamie said, "It means the world to me." You can see her sweet reactions several times throughout the videos. Her dress was so beautiful, and she looked great in it. It was made of lace and sparkle, hugging her waist and flaring at the bottom with a long train. The neckline was see through, and she had see through with lace sleeves as well. Her bouquet was made of fabric flowers and broaches, and I loved it. The bridesmaids wore different fall colors, and together, they looked fantastic. Here is her "The Dress" video!

Their love story, as told by Jamie:
       "So I knew Caleb quite a while before I knew him well. He worked with my dad at Coca-Cola in Middlesboro, and I thought he was kinda cute, but I never had talked to him. He actually added me on Facebook, and his excuse was so that my dad could see these river, lake photos of them jumping from a rope swing, I don't know. So, that was his excuse, and we just started talking from there. I don't think either one of us were really wanting to get into a relationship. We'd both been in a really bad situation and things hadn't went very well for us. We were both in kind of a hard spot when we found each other. We just started talking, and I was like, 'I just really don't want to like him.' But I did. We fell pretty quick. Our first date was to the Tennessee Valley Fair, and it was interesting to say the least. He got a video of me riding the mechanical bull. That's our yearly tradition; we try to go every year to the fair. At the time when we first started talking, I was working night shift at the hospital, and he was working night shift at Coca-Cola in Middlesboro, and he was getting ready to start the job that he has now working at the prison. He would run by all the time and see me on my lunch break and leave me notes on my car to be careful going home in the morning and bring me lunch at 2-3 o'clock in the morning. We would spend those 10-15 minutes I could spare from the busy med/surg floor to talk, and I just saw what a sweet and genuine person he was by just showing that he cared through that.
       "We planned a cruise after my RN graduation to go to Mexico and the Grand Cayman islands. I wasn't suspicious at all, but I was kind of frustrated. We had been dating for three years, and I was kind of like, 'Ok, we've been dating for three years. What's the deal? What's going on here?' So we went on our trip, and we had the most perfect day ever when we got there in Mexico, and I was thinking in my head, 'Man this would have been perfect if he would have asked me today; we've had the most perfect day...' That night we were up on top of the cruise ship, and I had just skunked him at a game of putt putt, and he was feeling low after that. We were on the front of the ship, and no one else was up there. At first, I couldn't understand what he was saying. I thought he was having a stroke. He was talking about a lot of stuff that didn't make since, but then he started talking about getting married. Then he slid down on one knee and asked me, and I was tickled to death."

Favorite part of the day:
       "I really absolutely loved our wedding day. It's the most loved and most special and happy I have ever felt. I am so glad I have such great memories to look back on. My favorite part was the letter he wrote me to read on our wedding day. It really made mine seem so sub par. That was shocking to me."

We worked with two different photographers that day. Jamie & Caleb used both Ashley Miller from The King's Daughter Photography (Here are some of the photos from her) and Brittany Martin from Fabulous Photography (Here's one of Jamie's bridal photos from her). The bride's grandfather, James Claxton, married the couple. According to Jamie, "That was very special to me as well and such a blessing to have both sets of my grandparents alive and there as well as my 99 year old great grandma. I always cry when I think about it." The flowers were by Floral Designs by Clarissa, and the bride stated, "Our flowers were so beautiful; they were just what I asked for and so much more beautiful than I expected." They really did match the wedding colors and style perfectly! Food was from the bride's mother and from Zaxby's.  Autumn Medeiros made the beautiful fall-inspired cake.

This wedding and this bride really were wonderful. The wedding had so many wonderful details, and this bride was just so happy with everything that happened, especially just to marry her groom, Caleb. When we asked her for information for our blog, she said, "I am so sentimental. I truly felt like the only woman in the world that day, and when I look back at some of the pictures, the way Caleb is looking at me absolutely melts my heart. He is not always very verbal with his emotions, but I won't ever forget the way I felt that day." And we believe that's exactly how every bride should feel on her wedding day! Here is their Intro.

November 14, 2015: Emily & Chris Murphy
Emily & Chris were married at the beautiful Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Knoxville, TN. This bride/wedding was very unique for us in the fact that Emily was on "Say Yes to the Dress" from TLC! TLC filmed alongside Casey for part of the day, which probably made him just a little nervous. haha. But Emily deserved all the attention she received for that dress, because it was absolutely stunning. It had a sweetheart neckline, fit her body well past her hips, and then flared out. What I loved most was the gold embellishments that decorated the dress all the way down. Her shoes were to die for as well. And her girls wore navy high-low dresses that complemented Emily's dress well. Here is Emily's video!

Their love story, as told by Emily:
              "Chris and I met online while he was in Dubai, UAE for work. We emailed for about a month and got to know each other really well through our emails. By the time he was back home in Knoxville, we were both smitten without having ever met each other in person. On our first date, we each realized that the other was exactly who we had gotten to know over email, which was a relief. (You never know who exactly is going to show up on a semi-blind date.) By the second date a few days later, it was clear we couldn't live without the other person, and he proposed seven weeks later. We married just six months after meeting online and moved to Tel Aviv, Israel two months after our wedding. Needless to say, this past year has been a whirlwind. :) "

Favorite part of the day:
         "My favorite part of our wedding day was the people. I loved that our most beloved people traveled from all over the country to party with us."

The reception was held at Jackson Terminal in Knoxville, which was a railroad freight depot. This couple's photographer was Dixie Pixel, who was awesome to work with. Here is one of their wedding photos, which is super gorgeous. Oven Art Designer Cakes made the delicious cake, and The Kicks performed at the reception. Their paper designer was Nico and Lala. This wedding was beautiful and SO much fun, as you can tell from all the dancing in the Intro video. Congrats, again, you two!

November 14, 2015: Jordan & Zack Patterson
Jordan & Zack were married at the McConnell House in Franklin, TN. The website describes the venue: "Brick walls, hardwood floors, long windows, and fireplaces create the perfect background for your event...We look forward to providing you a venue and cuisine that combines southern elegance with a modern edge." It is one of the most unique venues we have ever filmed at, regarding the shape of the ceremony site. The couple was married at the top of a staircase, the wedding party lined up on either side of the stairs, and the wedding guests stood around the balconies. So, Jordan and I met in college. We were both in ADPi, and for one year, she was actually my chapter president. She is one of the best ones we ever had because not only is she organized and a good leader, but she was incredibly kind and easy to get along with. And let me tell you, she made for an absolutely stunning bride. Jon Alan Salon in Cool Springs fixed hers and her bridesmaids' hair, and the bride's hair stayed beautifully curled all day. Her flawless make-up was done by Candace Hernandez, from Chattanooga, TN. Jordan's dress, from Monica's also in Chattanooga, TN, was one of my favorites from the entire year. It was covered in lace and beaded, with a low V neckline, and a low back as well. The underneath was a deep champagne color, and I can't tell you how many compliments she received that day on it - well deserved! Her bridesmaids were also so pretty, in their long, classy, elegant black dresses. Take a look at her "The Dress" video!

Their love story, as told by Jordan:
       "Jordan and Zack met in college at a homecoming fraternity/sorority gathering at UTC stadium.  Zack's the kind of guy that goes for what he wants without hesitation so of course he asked Jordan out on a date the first time they met.  However, Jordan wasn't looking for a relationship at the time so she politely said yes in person, but.... She waited until around a year later to finally take Zack up on that first date offer!  After hanging out with some mutual friends over the course of a few weeks, Jordan decided to take Zack up on his date offer and Zack was happy to tell her that the invitation still stood.  Jordan knew Zack was different, perhaps even the one, on that first date.  They've been dating ever since, and the rest is history for these two lovebirds." 

Favorite part of the day:

       "When we finally said, 'I do!'"

I had a great time at their wedding, and I truly can't say enough good things about it. I had fun spending time with her and some of our other ADPi sisters throughout the day, but I think I would have enjoyed my day just as much without personally knowing any of them. The whole wedding party was just such fun to be around. We worked with Sarah B. Gilliam from byShea Photography, and I can't give her enough praise either. She was a joy to work with, and the Patterson photos are aaammmmaaazing. Flowers (also loved the girls' bouquets so much) were by Garden Delights Florist. As for the reception, we did not film it for this couple, however, as for vendors: Catering was by Red Pony Catering, the cake was by Nothing Bundt Cakes, and the DJ was High Tone Entertainment. Overall, I loved this wedding, and Jordan & Zack, I hope you guys have had a blessed marriage so far!

December 19, 2015: Kassidi & Ben Brewer
Kassidi & Ben were married at Highland Community Church in Monteagle, TN, a quaint little church. Kassidi stated, "Ben has preached there several times, and I would go with him and fell in love with the way it looked and thought it would be perfect for a December wedding, even though we could've used a bigger church." It really did look great with their winter wedding. Their reception was at Cravens Hall in Sewanee. Casey spent the day with sweet Kassidi and her girls. Kassidi's dress was beautiful, covered in lace, with sleeves, and a long train. And I LOVED her shoes - bold heels with bright glitter sparkles. Her girls wore burgundy dresses, and had plaid shawls around their shoulders, which was so cute. The bouquets were white roses with pine cones and red berries in it - so appropriate for a winter wedding. You can see all of this in Kassidi's "The Dress" video!

Their love story, as told by Kassidi:
       "We met in high school, and Ben said he wanted to date me when we first met, so he asked for my number. I didn't really think he was my type; he played baseball and was friends with all the "popular" people, and I liked to stay more to myself with my own group of friends. So I was nice to him and would talk to him, but I didn't want to date him. lol. After we graduated high school, he tried again, and this time I decided I'd give him a chance. And it was the best decision I ever made! I went to college 3 hours away from home, but I would drive home every weekend to see him an dmy family. We had so much in common, and we had so much fun together, and we still do! He proposed on Memorial Day, May 25, 2015, at Disney World in Cinderella castle, definitely a dream come true for me! With my family there, which I was excited about, since I'm really close to my family. We decided to have a December wedding."

Favorite part of the day:
       "The best part of the day was honestly getting to marry my best friend. I know that is corny, but true. I also enjoyed dancing with my friends and getting to see all of our family and friends together."

We worked with Amber Hertwig Photography for this wedding, and she was great to work with. We love the pictures from the Brewer wedding that she took. The cakes, which were GORGEOUS, were made by Couture cakes. The caterer was Natural Bridge Events, who also helped a lot with decorations. Overall, Kassidi and her mom planned pretty much everything, and we think they did a great job. Wedding planning is stressful and overwhelming, but you wouldn't be able to tell that by looking at these guys on their wedding day. Here is their Intro!

December 31, 2015: Britney & Brett Bordas
Britney & Brett were married at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Lexington, KY, one of the most beautiful chapels that we have ever been in. This wedding was particularly special because it was our first New Year's Eve wedding! It was a great one for it too, because it was so much fun. We spent all day with Britney and her bridesmaids as they got ready and enjoyed themselves at the Griffin Gate Marriott in Lexington. If you want to get married in Lexington, you have to stay at this hotel. The rooms were superb and a perfect background for filming. You can see how nice the rooms are in the videos below. Britney's dress was so gorgeous. It was strapless with a deep sweetheart neckline with a beaded design on the top, fitted to the waist. Her skirt was full and elegant. Britney carried a white rose bouquet that carried out her classy look. The girls wore long black dresses with a ruffled neckline and carried white bouquets as well. Something I like the most about her "The Dress" video is her first look with her father; he looks so proud and so happy. Here is her video!

Favorite part of the day:

       My favorite part of the Bordas wedding day was definitely when midnight rolled around. They projected the ball drop for everyone to watch, and then at midnight, balloons dropped from the ceiling and Britney & Brett kissed. It was super special. 

We worked with Robert Vick Photography, and Robert & Robin were awesome to be around. Their photos from the Bordas wedding were beautiful. The reception was so much fun, made even better by the band that played, From Paris. They were excellent, and they really worked the crowd all night long. We really enjoyed our time at this wedding, and we were glad to spend our New Year's Eve having fun with this couple and their friends and family. Here is their Intro video!
