September Weddings 2015

Okay, I'm insanely behind on blogging. This September blog has actually been sitting in my drafts for months. Whoops! Oh well. It's nice to go back and watch these wedding videos again. :)

The month of September is becoming just as popular for fall weddings as October is! We had 4 beautiful weddings, including our first wedding in Kentucky!

September 5, 2015: Laura & Spencer Sechler
Laura & Spencer were married at the Fillauer House and Barn in Cleveland, TN. This space used to be home to Cleveland's main swimming hole in the 30s and 40s, and it is now converted to an event venue. There is a sprawling lawn and a beautifully renovated barn with chandeliers and a wall of old doors. It was a fantastic place for this wedding. Laura was a sweet, happy, and beautiful bride, and Casey talked so much about what a good time he had with the entire wedding party. Her dress was sooo stunning, and she looked perfect in it. The top was covered in sparkle and lace, and the bottom was soft and full. The girls wore classic black dresses to go with her black, white, pearl, and beautiful theme. Here is Laura's "The Dress" video!

Their love story, as told by Laura:
"Spencer and I met October 2012 at our optometry school's Halloween party. I was dressed as a candy corn and one of my really good friends pushed me (literally) into conversation with him. We didn't see each other again until the Christmas party due to my externships in clinic being away from our school. From there we began talking nonstop everyday. We officially began dating April 5,2013. He proposed to me on thanksgiving night, Nov 27,2014, in my parents backyard. He and my parent had it all worked out and decorated for our proposal. He asked me if I would go anywhere with him and got down on one knee and asked would I marry him...of course I said yes! We've been together through 3 moves, my optometry school graduation, and soon his in May 2015."

Favorite part of the day:
"His favorite part was seeing me for the first time.
"Mine was how happy everyone was the whole day. My favorite part of the day was dancing with my husband for the first time. We just got to have so much fun and enjoy the day together."

We worked with Abrea Crackel Photography for this wedding, and Laura & Spencer got some gorgeous photos from them! Designs by Melia was in charge of coordination, florals, and other décor. Double Portion Catering provided the food, and Yellow Cake Company made the beautiful cake. Terry's DJ Service kept the party at the reception going, and Terry is so great to work with!
Overall, it was a great day, and Laura & Spencer were wonderful to work for. Their bridal party was so fun too! Thanks for letting us be there, guys!

September 12, 2015: Amber & Chris Arnett
Amber and Chris were married at a private residence on Brotherton Mountain in Cookeville, TN. They said their vows in front of the front porch of an old stone house. It was quite charming! The decor was breathtaking, with family heirloom pieces and antiques, styled by the bride. For example, the wedding program was written on an old wooden door. So cool! Their Intro video really highlights a lot of the details. It also shows off how sharp the groom and groomsmen looked and how stunning the bride and her girls looked. I loooooved this wedding.

Their love story, as told by Amber:
"Chris and I both attended Tennessee Tech and met in a mundane, mandatory Nutrition class back in 2006. After a semester of subtle flirting, I gave Chris my number on the last day of class (bold, right?) and then he...never called. Rude.
"After transferring colleges, years later our paths crossed again through...wait for it...the infamous Facebook (so cheesy, right?). After several failed attempts of long distance dating and after we had gone our separate ways, God unexpectedly place us back in the same time zone and city through a job change. At that point, our relationship flourished, and we were engaged a year later and set our wedding date for September 12, 2015.
"Though our relationship had its fair share of challenges and obstacle, God always had a greater and much bigger plan for our lives. We can't wait to see what else He has in store for Mr. & Mrs. Arnett!"

Favorite part of the day:
"Amber:  I had been so very sick in the week leading up to our wedding I felt like I was THE Walking Dead. :) After rounds of some serious medication cocktails, bad weather threats, and the typical last minute wedding weekend stress, I was feeling like a human again and so very ready to marry and see the man of my dreams. As we stood back to back, both our hands were trembling and the tears began falling. I have never been flooded with so much happiness, bliss and pure joy. It was truly breath taking, intimate, and exactly what I had waited my whole life to have. I knew at that moment my happily ever after had just begun."
"Chris: This was a tough question for me... after much thinking I would have to say that the reading of our vows were hands down my favorite part of the day. Amber and I chose to forego the traditional vows and challenge ourselves to writing our own. After many late nights and red-lining sessions on both ends, I was finally ready to look my bride in the eye and deliver my masterpiece. During our vows, it was as if the rest of the world didn't exist and time stood still. It was just her and I, precisely the way we wanted it.  They were overflowing with each our personalities, inside humor, a multitude of tears and more importantly, our love and adoration for each other.  I couldn't have asked for more.
We worked with the talented Matt Copeland with Mattography in Cookeville, TN for the Arnett wedding. His photos from this day are ah-mazing.  One of Amber & Chris's photos is actually on the homepage link - the one of the lit up tree. Love it. The flowers were from Import Flowers in Nashville, TN, and those bouquets and boutonneires were perfect. The food and cake were provided by Linda's Cakes & Catering in Lafayette, TN - so yummy. And Anna Van Mol was the wedding coordinator who made sure everything ran smoothly. Check out their video!

September 19, 2015: Jessica & Joseph Hipp
Jessica & Joseph were married at Weddings at the Willows in Cleveland, AL - our FIRST Alabama wedding! So fun. The bride, Jessica, looked so pretty on her wedding day, and she chose soft, pastel and neutral colors for her girls and their flowers. Her dress was covered in lace with a dark off-white underlayer. Check out her "The Dress" video:

Their love story, as told by Jessica:
"Well, long story short, my bridesmaid Jessica introduced Joseph and I. The two of them went to high school together, and Jessica and I were in the national guard together. It took a few years for Joseph to "escape the friend zone.""

Their photographer was Kelsey Freeman out of Birmingham, AL. Here is a link to her blog with the Hipp wedding photos - they are wonderful! Jackie Johns Florals provided the pretty pastel flowers. The caterer and coordinator were the parents of a bridesmaid Jessica, Johanna and Brian Clemons. As the bride said, "They don't do it as a business- but they should!!" Jessica Johnson Clark did all of the girls' hair and makeup out of Enterprise, AL. She is an independent consultant that graduated from Paul Mitchell, and all of the girls looked fantastic. The bride's friends and family help set up and organize everything, for which the couple was so thankful. Casey had such a good time at this wedding, and we hope to film in Alabama again soon!

September 26, 2015: Hailey & Codee Guffey
Hailey & Codee were married at Rock Ridge Thoroughbreds in Versailles, Kentucky. We were SO excited to film this wedding, because it was our first one in Kentucky! After moving here in May, we did a bridal show in August. We met Hailey there, thankfully. She was working a booth for the bridal shop at which she worked, and we were across from her booth all day. She came up to us at the end of the day saying that she watched us all day, and it encouraged her to hire us as her videographer. Hailey, we were genuinely so happy to meet you. Hailey is so gorgeous, and she was even more so on her wedding day. Her dress was strapless with a sweetheart neckline and fitted, and her shoes were gold glitter with a bow on them and were to die for. Her bridesmaids wore blue-green dresses that complemented each girl. Here is her "The Dress" video!

Their love story, as told by Hailey:
"We were introduced through a mutual friend (Chelsea, one of the bridesmaids)! We became just friends, and then he was so sweet I just couldn't let him go! Haha then the rest is history. "

Favorite part of the day:
"I loved everything about that day, but the best part for me would have to be our first look. That was such a special moment for me and something I'll always cherish!"

I have to agree that their first look was something pretty special. They both cried, and it was precious! We worked with Claire Marie Photo that day, and her photos from this wedding are breathtaking. So. Good. The cake was made by Martines, and catering was by Swan's Landing. The florist that put together the great flowers was Sherwood Events and Designs, and the wedding coordinator was Carrie Thomas. Thanks for making sure everything went as planned, Carrie!
Here is their Intro video - we loved everything about this wedding.
