I am WAY behind on blogging. What, like, 4 months? We have been busy here! Since the beginning of April we have filmed 2 dance recitals, 1 birthday party, and 15 weddings. Whew. While Casey has been editing his tushy off, I studied for and took my medical school board exams (the second set). Maybe now we can catch up!
April 5: Bethany & Jordan Worley
I can't begin to tell you how excited we were for this wedding. We have wanted to do a destination wedding since the beginning, and when Bethany contacted us and said that her wedding was in Destin, FL, we immediately agreed to go. (It helps that Destin is Casey's favorite beach!) So, we drove the 9ish hours to Florida, and we spent all the next morning with Bethany & her bridal party. The girls got ready in a huge beach house that they rented, with some of the guys popping in and out through the day. It was nice because some of the girls even got to walk a few steps away and spend some time on the beach before they got ready. These girls were so fun, and I just have to brag a bit on Bethany's wedding dress and shoes. Her dress had a beautiful neckline that looked like seashells in a sweetheart shape. Then, her SHOES. Her shoes were HAND-PAINTED. They were amazing. My favorite bridal shoes I've ever seen. You can see her shoes and the fantastic Etsy shop that made them here: Bethany's awesome shoes! Her bridesmaids are also selfie queens. I think I heard "Let me take a selfie," more that day than I ever have. haha. We played off of it for her "The Dress" video, though. Here it is!
Bethany - The Dress
Bethany & Jordan were married at Vue on 30A. According to their website, it is "The only restaurant on Florida's Scenic Highway 30A that has been voted as having the Best Waterfront Dining by
Florida Travel + Life Magazine and most recently the "Best Place to
Watch a Sunset" by the readers of Destin Magazine. Here, you'll
experience a fresh approach to dining with a delicious menu designed and
prepared by Chef Giovanni Filippone, who was recently named a Best
Chefs America 2013 chef! In addition to these accolades, Vue on 30a
continues to be a "Most Booked" restaurant at OpenTable.com." It was pretty spectacular. If you are in the area, definitely stop by! Their photographer was V & V Photography who was easy to work with and who took some pretty awesome shots on the beach! The only downside to this whole day was the weather. It simply wouldn't cooperate - it unfortunately rained during the ceremony time. Luckily, plan B worked well, and the couple was married on the patio at the Vue. The rained stopped long enough to catch some photos and video on the beach afterwards though, thank goodness! Another favorite thing of mine? Their wedding cake looked like a sandy beach. :) Thank you for the referral, Lynsie!

April 19: Chelsea & Ryan Watlington
Okay, so I have known Chelsea and her family for years now. Her mom was a teacher of mine in high school and a fabulous one at that. We were honored when they asked us to film their April wedding. Chelsea & Ryan were married at one of our favorite local venues - The Clark House. This venue is made up of a gorgeous older house with a spacious backyard for outdoor ceremonies, a barn to take photos with, and an outdoor reception area that can be covered and enclosed if weather is less than perfect. Their catering is also YUMMY. Their photographer was Chris Bright, who was also a friend of the bride's family. Live music played, really setting the mood for a beautiful ceremony. The wedding party wore turquoise, and there were pops of coral throughout. (I'm pretty partial to those colors - we used pretty similar ones for our wedding! haha) Congrats to this sweet couple!
