I apparently forgot to blog the rest of our 2014 weddings! Whoops. :) Better play catch up. We had one wedding in November and two in December!
November 22: Marcey & Cody West
Marcey & Cody were married at aVenue South in Nashville, TN. The website's description tells it best: "Nashville Event Space venues are truly unique. We begin every event with
a blank space and transform the venue into a memorable event that is
custom to your vision, taste and budget. Our Event Designers are here to
guide every couple through the wedding planning process; making it a
delightful creative journey, rather than a stressful, time consuming
obstacle course. Any client renting a Nashville Event Space managed
venue has the option to utilize our professional event planners and
their design expertise." Simply being in the heart of downtown Nashville made this venue unique and fun, but the way they transformed the space for the West wedding was spectacular. Marcey's dress was stunning; I've never seen one like it. It was a strapless, fitted dress with sparkles from top to bottom. The girls wore a soft, light green and burgundy was also used throughout.
Their love story, as told by Marcy:
"Cody and I met at Tennessee Tech back in
2008. When we first met, I don't think either of us were looking for
anything very serious, but as time went on, we both began to realize how
special this thing was. After Cody graduated, I still had a couple years
of school left so we did the long distance thing for a while, and it
was definitely one of the hardest things we've had to experience. After I
graduated, I moved to Spring Hill in order to be closer to Cody, and a
year later he proposed. He took me on a scavenger hunt around Cookeville
to all of the places that represented significant milestones in our
relationship. Overall, we have both seen each other at our best and our
absolute worst, and we still love each other more each day."
Favorite part of the day:
"Our favorite part of the day was probably after the ceremony where we
spent about 20 minutes to ourselves. Everyone was enjoying cocktail hour,
and we were able to just relax and enjoy the fact that we were married.
I loved this wedding! The venue, the colors, the atmosphere, the wedding party, the photographers. We had the pleasure of working with Flameheart Studios again; Becca is one of our favorite people. She's awesome in every way, but her pictures are always fantastic. One of my favorite photos from their wedding is here: Downtown West photoSarah Ann Miller was the wedding coordinator, and Dulce Desserts made the beautiful and delicious cake. Here is their Intro!

December 13, 2014: Terann & Tyler Birdwell
Terann & Tyler were married at Jefferson Ave Church of Christ, on a chilly, but pretty, day in December. We were able to spend all morning with Terann and her fun bridesmaids. Terann's dress was SO beautiful. It had a sweetheart neckline, with lace that covered her shoulders. It fit at her waist and had a full skirt. She also wore a cathedral veil that finished the elegant look. Her girls wore long, strapless, black dresses, which paired with the black tuxes on the guys. The girls also wore fur coats and shawls outside, which looked pretty cool in some of the photos...and kept them warm. :) My favorite part of the whole day? Probably the exit - guests picked a plastic ball ornament off of the Christmas tree by the door, opened it, and threw (fake) snow at the couple as they left the reception. Such a unique idea!

Their love story, as told by Terann:
"We had seen each
other at church and had mutual friends, but it took a little while for us
to meet and become friends ourselves. What started as a friendship
quickly developed into something else and we have been together since."
Favorite part of the day:
"My favorite part of the
wedding day was walking down the aisle because it was a moment I've
dreamed about my whole life, and all the people that mean the most to me
were there but I only noticed Tyler." (And, to add to that, the look on Terann and Tyler's faces was absolutely precious during that moment!)
We worked with Matt Copeland from Mattography, our first time working with him. His photos are stunning, especially the ones from the Birdwell wedding! The wedding coordinator was Kerri Apple, who we have worked with before and loved. She is so sweet and on top of things; we highly recommend her services. Flowers were from Deborah's Designs, cake was by Dachelle McVey, reception decor was by Frankie Jones, and food was from Keepsake Catering. Here is their Intro!

December 27, 2014: Lauren & Alan Denton
We LOVE Lauren & Alan! Alan and Casey have been friends since kindergarten, and Alan was one of Casey's roommates in college. I met Alan at the Baptist student center at UTC my senior year of college, and anyone who knows him can tell you what a friendly and kind guy he is. From the first time I met him, I could tell that as well, and his (now) wife Lauren, has much of the same characteristics. They are/were both leaders at the BCM, and Alan still works there now. They love on everyone they meet, and they never meet a stranger. They are definitely a power couple, and they are doing and will do even greater things for God.
Lauren & Alan were married at North Cleveland Baptist Church, two days after Christmas. The church and the weather still had a Christmas-y feel (no snow, though...boo. haha). While Casey was busy being a groomsmen and hanging with his best friends, I spent the morning with Lauren and her bridesmaids (who also happen to be some of my closest friends as well). Everyone drank Starbucks (Thanks, Rebecca!), laughed, and chatted while they got ready for the big day. Lauren's dress was from Ever After Bridal in Cleveland, and it was satin, with a dramatic sweetheart neckline, fitted to below her hips, and cinched on the side before it filled out on the bottom. The girls wore a navy, one strap dress and bright red heels. All the girls also carried red and white roses. The boys looked handsome in grey tuxes with navy vests and ties. My favorite part of the whole day? Alan's face when he first saw Lauren as she walked down the aisle. Precious. Here is Lauren's "The Dress" video!
Lauren - The Dress
Their love story, as told by Lauren:
"Alan and I met at my freshman orientation at UTC.
He was representing the BCM, and I hounded him with questions about what
the BCM represented. Once school began, he and his friends accepted me
into their friend group in which I hung out with all of the time. I
liked him, but did not want him to find out in fear of him having the
"friend talk" with me. He liked me, but kept it quiet.
There was a
big snow and the whole group went sledding. Alan forgot to invite me,
and I got left watching "One Tree Hill" by myself. To make it up to me,
Alan "risked it for the biscuit" and asked me out. I thought it was just
a hang out and asked about our friends going. It wasn't until our
friend Rebecca texted me about the date she heard I had. I told her it
was just as friends and she had to convince me Alan was "into me".
We went on our first date January 21, 2011 and officially became a couple February 9, 2011.
Favorite part of the day:
"Our
favorite memory of our wedding day was the MOH telling us during the
ceremony that she forgot Alan's ring. I was the first person she told
when I handed her my bouquet, everyone thought I was getting cold feet
because I paused. The pastor and Alan didn't figure it out until the
pastor asked for the rings. He then pretended like she handed it to him.
The pastor, Alan and I covered it up well. Alan and I left the
sanctuary immediately following the ceremony to retrieve it."
The rehearsal dinner was catered by 2 Coaches Catering. They set up, served, and cleaned up.
The bride's cousin, Emily Kalmon, who owns Love and Lenses Photography took their lovely wedding pictures. Lauren's mom baked the cake, and her Aunt Lesa and grandmother assembled and decorated the cake. They also decorated the reception.
Old Fort in Cleveland, TN catered all the food that wasn't the cake. Their invitations and programs were designed and printed by Invitations by Whitney.
