October Weddings 2015

We love, love, love October weddings. But I just love the month of October in general. :) The weather, the leaves, the bonfires, my birthday. All good things!

October 3, 2015: Erica & Clayton Northern
Erica & Clayton were married at the Marriot Hotel in Nashville, TN. So, this couple was supposed to get married at another venue, outside, but when the day came, the forecast called for rain. They and their friends and family moved the entire wedding to the Marriot. We were expecting disappointment, however, these two were just so happy to get married that nothing else mattered. It was wonderful to see, and the wedding was pretty anyway! Casey spent all morning with this sweet bride and her bridesmaids. Erica's dress was beautiful, covered in lace, with a sparkly belt and a full skirt. I loved that it had her new married name and her wedding date stitched in the fabric on the inside of the dress. The girls wore coral (one of my favorite colors!) and cowboy/girl boots. ;)  Hair and makeup was by Tori Ann Moss. Here is her "The Dress" video!

Their love story, as told by Erica:
"Our love story started nearly 3 years ago upon an unplanned meeting at a local bar and grill by a mutual friend. This mutual friend, Eric, is like a brother to me but had went to school with Clayton. Because of the common friend we had, I used that to spark conversation once I knew that I had caught Clayton's eye!! During our three years of sharing hobbies (his being hunting, mine being horses/rodeo), we began to fall in love. We have spent many days camping, riding horses, hunting, and going to horse shows and found ourselves rarely without the other. Although he and I are very opposite in personality (I being the loud, adventurous, outgoing...He being more reserved, introverted, and quiet), we seem to have met the perfect balance for one another!! Not to mention...I think Clayton was happy to find someone that not only knew how to drive his truck but could also pull a trailer!"

Favorite part of the day:
"One highlight of the wedding day was my sister's matron of honor speech. The rap she did to Fresh Price of Bel-air. I loved having all our close friends and family there to watch us begin our new journey together!"

That rap was probably our favorite part of the day too! Her sister did an amazing job re-writing the lyrics to fit the couple, and it was very funny. We worked with Kathy Ziegler that day, a San Diego photographer who had moved to Nashville and has a special interest in horses as well. Here's a link to Erica & Clayton's engagement photos, which also center around horses! Emily Piepenbrink and Lee Blankenship were the wedding coordinators, who helped the day run smoothly, even with the venue change. The cake was made by Jane Holmes. Here is their Intro video!

October 18, 2015: Molly & Michael Edwards
Molly & Michael had a destination wedding at Country Manor Acres in Townsend, TN in the Smokey Mountains. This venue has about 50 acres of land with multiple areas at which couples can tie the knot. It is really a beautiful area! The couple now lives in Florida, but Tennessee held a special place in their heart, as you will see below, so they chose to get married in TN. :) Molly's dress was stunning! Lace with a darker underlay, with a sweetheart neckline, and a full skirt. The flowers were vivid fall orange and red, which looked great contrasted with the girl's navy dresses and the men's grey suits, and pumpkins were placed around as well. Molly & Michael were both a delight to be around.

Their love story, as told by Molly:
"Our story: We were both single parents not into the bar scene, so we met online. Match.com brought us together, but he likes to say we met in a bookstore (which we technically did have our first meeting in Books-A-Million). We chose to get married in TN because about 5 months into us dating, we took both of our daughters (his and mine) and my mom, and took a trip up here to see snow. He'd never been to TN, and I'd been coming here since I was 10. We had a great trip, and that's when we first said I love you. He deployed for about a year, came back and we got engaged about 7 months later. The rest is history."

Favorite part of the day:
"My favorite part was walking down the aisle and finally seeing Mike after the stressful morning."

Leah Bullard was the photographer this day, and her photos are self-described as "organic and relaxed". I can't find a link to Molly & Michael's pictures specifically, but I have seen them on Molly's Facebook, and they are stunning. Dead End BBQ provided the yummy food. Gigi's Cupcakes made the delightful cupcakes; they never, ever disappoint. Visually appealing and delicious, as always! Jeff Jopling Band kept the reception fun! They are located in Townsend, TN, and they describe themselves as a rhythm driven country rock band. :) Here is Molly & Michael's Intro!

October 24, 2015: Felisha & Derrek Greene
Felisha & Derrek were married at Raines Manor in Morristown, TN. Kathy Raines is the owner there, and Felisha could not say enough kind words about her. In fact, her review says "Kathy Raines is one of the most helpful people I have ever met. She has bent over backwards for me for the past year as I planned my wedding. She has taken many MANY hours to sit down and talk with me, get to know my husband and me, and really just capture exactly what we wanted our big day to be. Our wedding was beautiful, the day was perfect, and Kathy was amazing...If you are looking for the perfect venue to make you feel like a princess, this is it!" You can see more of the venue below in their video.

Their love story, as told by Felisha:
"Derrek and I met when we were freshmen in high school, and I was immediately attracted to him. We became friends and remained friends until we finally started dating our sophomore year in 2007. We fell in love so quickly and so deeply. We were both each other's first serious relationship, and we dreamed of being older and living life together. The perfect song to describe our relationship is "Wouldn't It Be Nice" by The Beach Boys.
"Flash forward to 2014. Derrek and I had been through it all together. We had been through ups and downs, good times and bad, but we were stronger and more in love than ever. On October 24, 2014, Derrek convinced my favorite teacher from high school, Mrs. Amy Whaley, to tell me she needed a favor from me. Knowing that I would do anything for her, I go back to our local high school to help her. I get there and catch up with Mrs. Whaley for a little while, and she finally leads me back to the same high school hallway where Derrek asked me to be his girlfriend 7 years ago. There I find Derrek down on one knee playing "Wouldn't it be Nice" by The Beach Boys. Derrek asked me to marry him, and, of course, I said YES!!!! We got married exactly one year later on October 24, 2015 where after saying our vows, we walked down the aisle as husband and wife to "Wouldn't it be Nice" by The Beach Boys.
"After more than 8 years of dreaming of growing up, getting married, living life together, and being happy, we can say we made it. We did it together and will continue to do it together. Sometimes, your first love is your only love. We are the luckiest people alive to have each other and to have had each other for so long. We both got to marry our best friend and our one true love."

Favorite part of the day:
"I really enjoyed the entire "getting ready" process with my best friends. We all live such busy lives that it's hard to always make the time to just spend time together. It was an amazing feeling to just laugh with my closest friends and to have them be there and support me on the most important day of my life."

The bride and bridesmaids' hair was done by Robin White, and the make-up was by Olivia Stump. We worked with Rebecca Marcum photography who was very personable and easy to work with. The awesome cakes were made by Lori Smith. The reception was hosted by Premier Party Machine. Some of my favorite things from this wedding? All the fall details including the fall colored candy, the groom's cake (featured in the video and so cool!), all the adorable high school pictures of the couple together, and their sweet letters to each other. :) Here is their Intro!

October 31, 2015: Shelley & Jared Webb
Shelley & Jared were married at Riverwood Mansion in Nashville, TN. A little more about Riverwood, from their website: "The Metropolitan Historical Commission has identified it as one of Nashville’s most significant historic structures. Built in the late 1790′s among its original 2,500 acres, Riverwood is one of Nashville’s oldest homes, and at 9,200 square feet, it is one of the largest. Known for its lavish parties, with famous guests including seven U.S. presidents... In the late 1990's Riverwood was purchased and renovated by it's current owners and is now the ideal event venue for classic Southern style weddings and events." These two were married on HALLOWEEN and used their last name (Webb) as inspiration. Their colors were black, white, red, and silver, and the bride even had a jeweled spider on the belt of her dress. And did I mention her dress? It was amazing. Seriously. I can't even describe it, but watch the video below to see!

Their love story, as told by Shelley:
"Everyone has a love story, but ours is my favorite. I met Jared in October of last year in his brother’s Halloween store. I was buying a mask for a dance performance I was going to be in later that month. Little did I know, the man that would be my husband a year later already knew who I was and quite a few things about me. I went to school with his brothers in high school, and both I and his younger brother played basketball. He noticed me my junior year while attending his brother’s game. He made it a habit of attending all the home games from that point forward. He never did muster up enough courage to come and speak and being 6 years my senior he thought it probably was unrealistic at the time. Fast forward 16 years, and here we are. After both of us coming out of previous marriages, fate brought us together, and we felt like we were destined to cross paths on several occasions last year. We came into each other’s life when we needed each other the most. Since the beginning of November last year, we have never been apart one day, and if we have our way, never will again. We are each other’s best friend, lover, and soul mate. He always puts me first, cares for me, and I look to him for guidance and security. He still remembers the first thing I ever said to him in the store that night…” Do you all take cash”? LOL."

Favorite part of the day:
"Favorite part of the wedding for us was all the personal touches we put on the ceremony. From the writing of our own vows, to the knot tying ceremony, to the small intimate number of guests in the anti-bellum mansion. It made for the most memorable and perfect day for us."

Angel Guay took the photographs for this wedding, and she was very easy to work with. Sue Davies coordinated the wedding, and Ryan Walls married the couple. 8 Lavender Lane provided catering and the cake. Here is their Intro!
