October 2014 Weddings - Part 1

Eight weddings in October. EIGHT. Whew. So blessed, so busy. Since there are so many from this month, I'm splitting it into two blog posts. I also decided to do something a bit different with the brides from this month - I asked them all for their love stories and for their favorite memory from their wedding day. We hope you enjoy the videos from this month...we sure enjoyed making them!

October 5: Laura & Nick Oberski
Laura & Nick were married in Rising Fawn, Georgia, outside of a cabin called Half Moon Hill where she and her family stayed. It was a destination wedding for the couple, and their families came from several different states, including Texas and Wisconsin. They were married at 10:30 am. Who knew the lighting was so beautiful that early? The girls wore navy in dresses of different styles; the men wore brown vests in different shades. Laura's bouquet (stunning wildflowers) and dress were some of my favorite, ever, and Nick looked pretty snazzy in his navy and white button-up and a white tie. This wedding was unique, laid-back, and full of love.

Their love story, as told by Laura:
"I am a Texas girl - I lived there my whole life, minus a year and a half I spent at Covenant College in Lookout Mountain back in 2003. I moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in June of 2013 to help my brother start a food truck. Nick is a Michigan boy, born and raised, and he moved to Milwaukee about 3 years ago for a job (he's an electrical engineer). At the end of summer 2014, some of our mutual friends from church hosted a game night - I went, only having met the hostesses once each, and knowing only one other girl that was going to be there (for those who know me, this was way out of character). Nick went, under pressure of his roommate, even though he really just wanted to relax at home. We sat across from the room from one another that night, with plenty of time to notice, since the game we played for the entire two hours was not a very active one. After the game, I was standing by the snack table, and Nick came over and chatted with me for a while before he left. The next day was Sunday, and I had to go to church early because my roommate was serving as a greeter, so I was sitting in the row by myself. Nick, also there early to serve in the tech booth, took notice and came and sat and chatted with me again (for those who know him, this was very out of character). After a week or so, my roommate and I invited Nick to join our Monday night beach volleyball group, which he did, and then we hung out with groups a couple times for a cookout, game nights, etc. Nick asked me to coffee, which ended up being a 4 hour date, then on October 5, 2014, on a date to the Discovery World Museum, he asked me if I 'wanted to put a label on it' to be his girlfriend. On our 6 month dating anniversary, we had a sunrise date at the beach, and he sang a song he wrote for me, and asked me to be his wife. Six months after that, on our 1 year anniversary of dating, we put a different label on it, and added a few rings to seal the deal."

Favorite part of the day:
"Our favorite part of the day, and of the whole wedding weekend, was the fact that so many of our family members and close friends were all there in one place to celebrate with us. We are both "quality time" people, and we were absolutely blown away by how many people said yes to making the trip to be with us during the weekend. It was so fun to see everyone spending time together and enjoying one another - I loved seeing Nick's cousins playing a game with two friends of mine (who had just met one another), one from when I lived in Houston and one from when I lived in Temple. It was a collision of all of our favorite people in one place! What a blessing to be surrounded by so many people we love!"

The photographers were Pine and Pearl Photography; David and Kelley were so fantastic to work with, easy-going, fun, and they take some awesome photos. They were from Texas as well, so if any of you are in that area, look them up! Here is a direct link to Laura & Nick's photos: Gorgeous wedding photos! Apron Strings Catering provided a delicious brunch at the reception, and Cupcake Kitchen made the cupcakes, which were also super yummy.

October 5: Christina & Kevin Anton
Christina & Kevin were our second wedding of the day, and they were married at Tennessee River Place in Chattanooga, on a gorgeous day. This is seriously a beautiful place to get married, with a perfect backdrop, a great outside area, and some really nice indoor spaces as well. Their wedding was classy and elegant with Amabile Strings that played during the ceremony. The girls wore deep purple, and the men wore classic black suits. Christina's dress was full, flowing, and to die for.

Their love story, as told by Christina:
"We had a mutual group of friends and missed each other throughout most of freshman year at ETSU and finally crossed paths at a social event. From then on (5/2008) we have been inseparable! [As for our engagement,] after months of sneaking around and hard work, Kevin asked Christina to a sunset dinner on the boat. She had a long day in clinic and did not feel up for it. Fortunately, he would not take no for an answer. Mid-dinner, Kevin proposed to a very surprised Christina. After some hyperventilation and tears they were officially engaged!"
Favorite part of the day:
"Our first dance (Note from Jessica - They did some very fancy footwork!), lantern lighting"
Their photographer was Robert from Shades of Grey Photography , and we can't wait to see some of the photos from this wedding! With this venue and some of the back of the camera shots we snuck, they should be amazing. DJ Terry D was awesome to work with at the reception. He was so respectful of us and the photographers, and he threw a mean party! Alshabibi Catering provided the yummy food and the beautiful white and purple tinted flowers for the bride and her girls.

October 10: Jenny & Devin Johnson
Jenny & Devin were married at First Baptist Church in Sparta. This was such a pretty church wedding! The church was decorated in such a shabby chic way with old windows hanging from the ceiling, and grey and turquoise/mint all around. The bride wore a dress that fit her body well then flared out at the bottom that was adorned with some pearls and some sparkle (from Merle Norman in Cookeville!). She wore a beautiful matching headband. Her girls wore long grey dresses and pearls with turquoise/mint ties around their neck. (I'm probably not describing the color well, by the way! It was pretty, though. :) ) And the guys wore dark, classy tuxes. The kids in the wedding were hilarious! Feisty and energetic, they were playing up until the ceremony, and the little flower girl made herself at home, laying down in the chairs and in the floor in her white dress and grey converse shoes. :) Jenny was wonderful to be around, and although Devin was a man of few words, you could tell how absolutely in love he is with his bride. So sweet!

Their love story, as told by Jenny:
"One was in love at first sight and the other was in love 10 years later. In the later teen years of our lives, we met each other through a random night with friends. Devin tried his hardest to even get my attention. However, knowing I was moving away to go to college, I wanted no part in a relationship back home. Over the past years, Devin stayed in contact with me while I was away. Upon moving back home and getting a job back in our hometown, our talks became more frequent and in-depth. Over a short period of time, my heart completely fell in love with a man that never gave up his love for me in the 10 years. We dated 9 months, engaged for 5 months, and are now happily married. I cannot imagine my life without my best friend now."

Favorite part of the day:
"Even though we saw each other before the wedding and took a few pictures, my favorite part of the wedding day was walking down the aisle and seeing the emotion in Devin's eyes. I felt his love for me by just a look."

Are you kidding me? How precious are they?? I love it. We worked with Lindsey Brown Photography this day, our first time working with this sweet, talented lady. She was so easy-going, and good to chat with...and her photos are awesome. Can't wait to see some from this wedding! Sparta Flowers and Gifts provided the flowers, and Bobby Price supplied the yummy BBQ dinner.
Jenny & Devin - Intro

October 11: Tarra & Michael Hernandez
Tarra & Michael were married at The Saltbox Inn and Stables in Cookeville. Their wedding day was rainy, but let me tell you, it didn't seem to dampen anyone's mood. The two of them are so clearly in love, and they smiled all day long, rain and all. The rain even created an ambiance as it came down on the tin roof that was over the guests. Tarra's brother in law played guitar during the ceremony as well, adding to the feel of the ceremony. The girls wore navy, in different styles, and the guys wore grey. Tarra's dress was sleek, form-fitting, and stunning. Congrats, again, to this old dance friend and UTC peer of mine, Tarra, and her new hubby!
Their love story, as told by Tarra:
"Ok, So! Michael and I. We met in college, right before I started my sophomore year, and he started his senior year. We were at a birthday party of a mutual friend. We immediately hit it off. Later on that semester, we started seeing each other around and found out we actually had a lot of the same friends. But we started hanging out more and more. I guess you could say we were dating that first year, but neither of us wanted to put a label on it (stubborn, haha). I didn't because I knew he was going to be moving away after he graduated for dental school. I didn't want to get into a long distance relationship situation. He was thinking the same thing. This went on until a couple of weeks before he moved, when it finally all came out that we loved each other and wanted to try to make it work. So we then became "official", and the rest is history! We were in a long distance relationship (7 hour drive) for 4 years. And then last June (2013) we moved to Asheville after he graduated from dental school. He proposed to me last December!"
Favorite part of the day:
"My favorite part about the wedding was the fact that we were able to incorporate family members into the ceremony. My sister's husband, Brandon Wadley, did the ceremony music, and Michael's cousin, Bianca Torres, did the Ed Sheeran song "Thinking Out Loud". I am a huge family person and it was so great. Also the fact that most everyone in both of our families were able to be there. My only living grandparent (my mom's dad, who is 92 years old) was able to be there. And two of my cousins-one had a baby a month prior to the wedding, and one's due date was less than a month after the wedding- were both there.
And how everyone was so ready to dance! I had the best time ever. Also, it was just so amazing to have everyone we love in the same room at the same time. I know that is never ever going to happen again. I was really trying to take that fact in the whole night."
We worked with Zach and Sarah Photography, one of our favorites. Their photos are always breath-taking, and they are both so fun to work with. Here's a sneak peek from their wedding: Isn't it beautiful!? Bruce Anderson, from Cookeville, created the full, white bouquets and also helped with decoration. Victor Kline with Chartwells catering provided the great food at the reception.

September 2014 Weddings

On September 20th, we filmed the first wedding that we were able to film for a few weeks. It was nice to have a little break, but we are happy to be back in the swing of things now! From the 20th until October 25th, we are booked pretty solid and are filming a birthday party, a promotional video, and, count 'em, TWELVE weddings. Holy moly. It's the busiest time of the year for us this year - everyone loves autumn! Here are the videos from our four September weddings (YouTube seemed to mess with the colors in some of the videos - forgive the brightness in some clips!):

September 20: Sarah & Alex Chapman
Most of our friends are getting married right about now! Alex and Casey have been friends for years and years, and Sarah was one of my very best friends in college. Like Casey and I, Sarah & Alex met at the BCM...actually most, if not all, of our couple friends from college met each other at the BCM. haha. We were so honored when they asked us both to be in their wedding party AND to film their wedding! We had never done this before, but with the help of some wonderful family members, we were able to do both. :)
Obviously, I spent all morning with the girls, and Casey spent all morning with the guys. I watched as the talented hair and makeup ladies transformed the bride into this beautiful glam model. I mean, Sarah is pretty anyway, so it didn't take much, but you wouldn't believe how stunning she was on her wedding day.
Sarah's dress was strapless and covered in lace. She also wore a sparkling belt around her waist, which matched the detail on the bridesmaids dresses. The bridesmaid dresses were "victorian lilac," except for the Matron of Honor's dress, which was grey. One of my favorite details about this wedding? The flowers were all made of PAPER! This talented woman in Chattanooga (from The Paper Pimpernel) made them all - Sarah's, ours, and all the ones used for decoration. So. cool. And my favorite thing about this video? The father's first look, of course. Father and daughter both tear up, and it makes me tear up as well. Love you, Biffles. You're gorgeous!
Sarah - The Dress
Sarah & Alex were married at Patten Chapel in Chattanooga, the amazing old chapel on UTC's campus. It has wooden features, stained glass windows, a long aisle, and some powerful acoustics. It was the perfect place for these two to get married, and it matched their ceremony exactly. We worked with Zach and Sarah Photography, and I can't wait to see the Chapman wedding photos! All of this photographer's photos are SO impressive, and not only that, they are fantastic to work with. Great personalities, great teamwork with us as videographers. We love them. In their Intro video, you can see how funny the groom  is. He made silly faces at the camera nearly all day. Those Jeff Co groomsmen are a great group of friends, AND they make some pretty good groomsmen too (meaning they show up on time, they don't complain about how hot it is in their tuxes in front of most people, they smile and have fun). Thank you, boys!
Sarah & Alex decided to do a letter exchange before the ceremony, and you can see how sweet their reactions are. One of my favorites! Congrats to you guys! We love you both. :)
Sarah & Alex - Intro

September 21: Brandy & Jonathan Jones
Brandy & Jonathan were married at The Clark House, a beautiful wedding venue in Livingston at which we love working! Their flowers are always so pretty, their food is delicious, and the grounds make for some perfect picture spots. Brandy and I went to high school together and have some mutual friends, and I was so  excited when she asked us to film her wedding! (It's always nice to film for someone you  know. :) ) I was also happy to learn that I would be working with a photographer that I also went to high school with...we actually were in Annie together, both as cute little orphans! haha. McDonald Weddings is SO easy to work with, and their photos of the Jones wedding so far are beautiful. Check out her page to see some of her images! The boys wore grey, and the girls wore long coral dresses. I also wore a long coral dress that day; I practically could have been part of the wedding party! The hands-down, best part of their video is the father's first look. Bless his heart, you could tell how proud he was of his little girl as she turned into a bride. Congrats to this sweet couple!

September 27: Allison & Jabe Milam
Allison & Jabe were married at Rosewood Wedding Chapel and Event Center, a venue that has an old, beautiful house, a small chapel, an outdoor ceremony space surrounded by greenery, and a patio/porch space for receptions. Weddings at this venue never fail to impress. The photographers for the day were from Lovinggood's Photography, a fun, kind married couple who take some great photos. We LOVED everything about this wedding. We have been waiting for it for a while; they booked  us months and months ago after they saw our advertisement in Tulle for Weddings Magazine. Allison put a lot of creativity into her wedding. The colors and decorations were beautiful and autumn-like: the girls wore burgundy dresses, the guys wore shades of brown, their guest book was a tiny wire-y tree (You signed burgundy and forest green leaves and hung them on the tree!), the cake sat on a small stump...And her flowers? GORGEOUS wildflowers. So pretty! Their pug babies also had an important role in the ceremony, and they looked pretty sophisticated,  Onyx in his bowtie and Gidget in her flower collar. Another unique thing was the engagement ring; it was made with an uncut diamond. How cool is that? Last favorite thing is the first look. Absolutely. Adorable. He proposed again!!! You have to watch this one. It made me tear up filming it. Watch their Intro here!

September 28: Cate & Nick Costanza
Cate & Nick were married at Rock Creek Farms in Gallatin. The venue's website describes it perfectly: "Imagine arriving along a tree-lined drive in where an intimate Bride's Room awaits. And escape to a simpler place, where the refined elegance of a wedding ceremony is joined by the natural beauty of the great outdoors. Choose our breathtaking outdoor venue, "Rock Creek Farm", for a truly enchanting wedding." For real, though. Such a pretty venue! Something that the bride paid attention to was the horses at the venue; they were noble and handsome, and the bride and groom were able to have their photos made with them. Speaking of photos, we worked with Amber Rena Photography at this wedding, someone we haven't been able to work with for almost a whole year. Amber is a sweetheart, and her photos are outstanding! This couple's wedding was small and intimate, with only a handful or two of guests and only one bridesmaid and one groomsman (both were siblings of the couple). This was probably the smallest wedding we have filmed  up until now, and we really enjoyed the close-knit-feel of everything. And Cate & Nick? You can tell they are head over heels for one another just by the looks on their faces, especially in Nick's first glimpse of his bride as she walked down the aisle. The bride wore a stunning, fitted, scalloped dress, and her bridesmaid wore silver. Three words for this wedding - classy, intimate, and beautiful. Check out their Intro video!

July and August 2014 Weddings

These two months get blogged together since we only had one wedding in August. :) As our busiest wedding season ever came to a close, we were thankful for every single wedding in 2014 so far, but we were also grateful for a small (wedding) break between August 9 and September 20. This has given us time to go on more dates as a (still) newly married couple and to do other creative videos like promotional work for some pretty great businesses and causes. We love our job. Here's our July & August recap! (YouTube seemed to mess with the colors in some of the videos - forgive the brightness in some clips!)

July 12: Bekah & Josh Rogers

Josh and Casey have known each other since middle school. They became close friends through cross country in high school, and eventually, they both wound up at UT at Chattanooga together. This is where Josh met Bekah and where I met Casey, Josh, and Bekah. :) Bekah & Josh got together in February of 2010, and they later got engaged in December of 2013.These two are two of the most selfless and kind people you will ever meet. They are respectful to each other in a Godly way, and you can tell that God made one for the other; they complement each other perfectly. As Casey got ready with the groom and his fellow groomsmen, I got to film the bride and her bridesmaids (some of them good friends of mine as well) all morning. Friends of the bride helped with hair and makeup, and Bekah became a beautiful bride. Her dress was full and covered with lace, her vintage-inspired ring sparkled, and her flowers were unique and put together by the bride herself. This crafty bride also made necklaces and earrings for her bridal party and numerous other things used to decorate her wedding day. The girls wore purple, and a mint color was an accent carried throughout.
Bekah - The Dress

Bekah & Josh were married in Buffat Heights Baptist Church, a pretty church in Knoxville. This is Bekah's home church and was conveniently only minutes from her mother's home. We worked with Heather Faulkner Photography, and I am excited about seeing the couple's photos as the photographer's work on her Facebook looks beautiful! I am quite a fan of this wedding party since I knew most of them from the BCM and since my handsome husband was one of the funny groomsmen; you can really see what goofballs they are in this video. :) Bekah's handmade details decorated the church, and the church's purple lighting on the stage really set the tone for the ceremony. It was beautiful. The couple chose not to do a "first look," and the look on Josh's face when he watched Bekah walk down the aisle to him was seriously one of the most precious we have seen. My favorite moment of the day? When Bekah released balloons for her father who unfortunately passed years ago. The sun shined down even more brightly in that instant. I know he was happy for you that day, celebrating with Jesus. Congrats to our good friends, Bekah & Josh! Happy two months and one day of marriage!

Bekah & Josh - Intro

July 19: Sara & Tyler Bratten
Thank you to our DJ friends at 5 Diamond Productions for referring us for this wedding! We booked this wedding very close to the date, but luckily, we were available. :) Sara & Tyler were married at The Bridge Building in Nashville, another new venue for us. Let me just say: It is stinkin' cool. This couple got married right next to LP Field, next to a river, looking at downtown Nashville. It made for some beautiful video footage, and the pictures turned out fantastic as well. Ace Photography did a phenomenal job on this wedding; in fact, I'm going to directly link you to one of their wedding photos because I loved them so much: beautiful Bratten wedding photo. The girls wore a pretty shade of green that I'm not sure I could describe correctly (It's times like these I wish I had taken some design or art classes...), and they carried bouquets with huge, happy daisies in them. I love all the shots Casey got of Nashville  - my favorite is the nighttime river shot. Congrats to this fun couple!

Sara & Tyler - Intro

July 26: Cynthia & Seth Ewing
Cynthia & Seth were married on family land in Morristown, right next to Nolachucky river, shaded by trees. When Casey came back from this wedding and showed me the video footage, I was amazed at how beautiful their ceremony site was! This wedding had a southern vintage theme that was done so well. Every little detail was perfect. The wedding party wore natural creams and browns, and the bride wore a flowing white dress with a gorgeous lace neckline. We worked with Simply Croft for this wedding, and we were happy to work with them for the second time! Melissa's photos are fantastic; here's her blog with the Ewing wedding photos: Ewing Wedding Photos by Simply Croft. Again, their ceremony site was stunning, and the reception (although not featured in this video) was just as beautiful. It was also a huge party that probably lasted all night. :) Congrats on a fantastic wedding and on your marriage!

Cynthia & Seth - Intro

August 9: Katie & Shane Pratt

Katie & Shane have been best friends for years, and they finally decided that they were meant to be husband and wife as well! They were married at Community Chapel Freewill Baptist Church in Talbott. The couple chose purple and silver as their wedding colors, the bride wore an elegant dress with a full train, and a bit of sparkle was sprinkled throughout the decor. One of my favorite things was Katie's bouquet - it was made of feathers! I haven't seen one like that before, and I loved how it added a little something extra to the bride's look. Their wedding ceremony was precious; you could really tell how much love they had for each other. We worked with This Big Moment Photography, and we are excited to see photos from the Pratt wedding soon. :) Congrats to Katie & Shane, and we wish you two all the best!

June 2014 Weddings

June was a less busy month, but we were friends with all three brides/couples that we filmed this month. That made each one even that more special for us. Take a look! (YouTube seemed to mess with the colors in some of the videos - forgive the brightness in some clips!)

June 7: Becca & Andrew Coleman
I have known Becca since I was in middle school - we were on the local dance team together! In other words, we wore velvet unitards and danced to Janet Jackson and Britney Spears together. Yeah. Becca started her photography business not too long after that, and her company is now one of the most successful ones in the area. Flameheart Studios is fantastic; we used them for our own wedding, and each time I look at the photos, I find a new favorite one, over a year later. Anyway, so, we were thrilled and flattered when Becca & Andrew asked us to film their wedding! We filmed a baby video for their precious little girl, Jette, previously, and later we filmed her first birthday, but we knew that their wedding day would be such a huge day for them as well.
We spent all morning with the wedding party. Becca and the bridesmaids didn't separate themselves from the boys while getting ready, so we actually got to spend all day with the entire party. We still created a video just for Becca, though. This girl had TWO dresses, each one unique and amazing. Another distinctive thing about Becca's details was her engagement ring; it has a pink stone in it, and the band has an almost textured look. Very cool! This is also the first time I had heard this song that she chose for this video, and it fit the flow of the video so well. Anyway, here is Becca's "The Dress" video!
Becca - The Dress
Becca & Andrew were married at Cedarwood Weddings, an absolutely GORGEOUS venue in Nashville. There's an older house with a huge front porch, a swing hanging from a tree in the front yard, a back patio (one covered and one not), a rolling hills outdoor space, and a barn (where the cocktail hour was). The amount of detail that this venue puts into everything is amazing, and the bouquets they made were to die for. They were huge and beautiful and perfect. We worked with You + We Photography who came all the way from California! This award-winning company takes some breathtaking photos, and Becca & Andrew's photos turned out to be no exception to that. Sasha (I'm probably not spelling his name right...) was great to work with. You will also see lots of Jette in this one, because, well, she's one of our favorite kiddos. She's pretty adorable. You also get to see their stylish wedding party (the men wore a dark blue suit, and the ladies wore blush pink, white, or gold) as well as their first babies, Dino & Jolie (their pups!). If I'm truthful, the end of this video makes me tear up a little every time. Look how happy they are. We love you guys, and we hope you have the greatest adventures together.
Becca & Andrew - Intro

June 20: Rachael & Austin Carson
Rachael is one of my other best friends, and I was honored to be a Matron of Honor in her wedding! RayRay and I have known each other since kindergarten and started really re-connecting in high school; it didn't take long to become attached at the Hip. I feel like I've been through everything with this girl, including (of course, the typical high school girl...) loves and break-ups. When she told me about this guy she worked with who had a crush on her, though, I felt like I needed to do a little "research." She wasn't quite ready for a relationship at the time, but after seeing that he seemed like the type of guy she would like (Facebook can tell you a lot about a person!), I convinced her to date him. Which really means, I was the reason they got married. (KIDDING...but you're welcome. haha)
So, I, obviously, got to spend all morning with the bride, but because I was actually in the wedding, Casey got to do all the filming for this one. We began the bride's day by jumping on her bed, screaming that it was her wedding day! Rachael's friend, Cassie, did some of the hair for the day, and her other friend/practically family member, Darla, did our make-up. Our dresses were a bright marine (maybe? haha, I wore it, and I don't even know) blue, but Rachael's dress is the one you should really care about. It had a lace neckline, wrapped around her waist, and then flared out at her hips. She wore a delicate birdcage veil that was accented with a giant flower. She. looked. gorgeous. My favorite parts of this video? The typical "Rachael" faces (see 1:12, 1:48, 1:58, 3:01...), Mary Beth & I both getting to zip up her dress, and the first looks with her dad and mom. So precious.
Rachael - The Dress
Rachael & Austin were married at The Church on Main in Chattanooga. Casey & I lived in Chattanooga when we went to college, but this was still the first we had ever heard of this venue. I fell in love with it (and secretly wished I had looked at it for my own wedding!). It looks like a beautiful, elegant church on the outside, and the inside is this trendy, rustic space with hardwood floors and brick walls. The photographer for the day was Keepsake Photography (Fun fact - Its owner got married in May...we just blogged about her wedding! haha). Rachael & Austin's photos turned out vibrant and beautiful. Check out Keepsake if you are looking for wonderful photos at a reasonable value! We recommend her to brides very often!
The first clip of their Intro shows you the personalities of Austin and his groomsmen (three of which were his brothers). These boys were hilarious and were super fun to be around all day. Favorite part of this one? The bride & groom's first look with Austin's "Wow." Priceless. And necessary. :) We are happy for you two, and we can't wait to see you soon!
Rachael & Austin - Intro
And, just for fun, we posted their reception video. This song they played at their reception matched with the seriousness of the details and the fun dancing warranted posting.

June 21: Ashley & Josh Harris
I also knew the third bride of the month! Ashley and I endured medical school together, and I was always impressed by how brilliant she is. She is applying to Internal Medicine residencies now! Her husband is a Physical Therapist, so just imagine how smart their (one day, maybe) kids will be. Ashley & Josh have a special story because they met, got engaged, and got married in less than a year! When you know, you know, right? They were married at Farrar Hill Farms in Manchester, another new venue for us. This venue has an old, beautiful barn, and the couple chose to use hay covered in quilts for their guests' seating. Such a cute, country chic wedding. We worked with Studio Verabella, a photography company who seems to go above and beyond for their clients! The couple chose coral and turquoise for their colors, and Ashley and her family paid special attention to all of the details. Congratulations to our favorite neighbors! ;)

May 2014 Weddings

May was our busiest work month up to this point...we had six weddings. SIX. We were so busy, but we were happy to be at each wedding, and knowing we could capture each couple's day was rewarding. (YouTube seemed to mess with the colors in some of the videos - forgive the brightness in some clips!)

May 3: Hannah & Brian McMahon
Hannah & Brian were married in Crossville, TN at a local church. They had a rustic chic wedding, and I loved everything about it. Their ceremony was dressed with hanging burlap, fabric, and chandeliers, and a wooden structure stood at the alter, covered with flowers. The bride's dress was gorgeous and covered in lace, and the bridesmaids wore natural colored dresses, all in different styles, complete with headbands. The little flower girls were dressed similarly. The men complimented the ladies in their cream colored tuxes. At the reception, the wedding party broke out in a choreographed song, adding to the fun of the night. :) We worked with Simply Posh Photography, whose styling is unique and fit this wedding perfectly. Here is their Intro video! Congrats you two!
Hannah & Brian - Intro

May 17: Cori & Matt McBride
Cori & Matt were married at Vinson Farms in Sparta, TN, a relatively new wedding venue in the area. Casey spent all day with Cori and her wedding party. Cori and her bridesmaids were laid-back and made for a pretty stress-free morning! The bride's dress was beautiful and, to me, resembled a vintage lace quilt, if there ever was such a thing. I loved it, and I loved the way it looked on Cori even more! The girls wore blush pink and cowgirl boots. :) Here is Cori's "The Dress" video:
Cori - The Dress
The Intro video really helps you get the feel of this wedding day, from the song choice, to the old, vintage cars, to the hay bale seats, to the old door that stood at the beginning of the aisle. Again, this location is gorgeous, and anyone looking to get married in the area should check it out. Who wouldn't want that pond in their background? Or to use those carriages to ride in on? (We actually used carriages from this venue at OUR wedding - highly recommended. :) ) Also shown are bagpipe players...this was new for us! The groom likes bagpipe music, and one of his surprises at the wedding was hired bagpipe musicians! How fun. :) More highlights from this wedding? A terrific cake smash, lanterns at the exit, and working with one of our favorite photographers - Flameheart Studios! Congrats!

May 17: Chelsea & Jacob McDowell
Obviously, we had two weddings on this day! We couldn't turn either couple down, so I had the pleasure of filming the McDowell wedding. Chelsea and I have known each other for a few years now. We used to dance together, and let me tell you, she was such a pretty dancer. I think a lot of her strength is her grace, and that describes her in general as well. To me, Chelsea is graceful, soft spoken, kind-hearted, and beautiful. I knew her wedding would be beautiful as well. Chelsea & Jacob were married at Rosewood Chapel - an old house with a chapel, an outdoor ceremony space, and a backyard patio for the reception site. We worked with SPhotography, a company that we had not met before, but their pictures turned out to be fantastic - check them out! Wedding colors were grey and bright yellow, and Chelsea wore a fitted dress with a lace overlay that flared out at the bottom and floated when she walked. One of my favorite parts about their ceremony was that Chelsea's father walked her down the aisle, and her step-father married her and Jacob. I loved that both had the honor of being such important parts of the day. There was a bonfire at the reception and fun, prop-filled dancing as well. Another thing I didn't mention, and it is the most important about this couple. They were lucky enough to meet each other and fall in love YEARS ago. They deserve to spend the rest of their lives together. Thank you for allowing us to film for you, Chelsea. I am a fan of you and your family! Congrats to you and Jacob!

May 24: Heather & Zach Jolly
Heather is a photographer that we are able to work with pretty often, and we were excited to be able to film her wedding day! (We were secretly hoping she would ask us from the day we found out she was engaged!) Heather & Zach were married at a gorgeous new wedding location - Bridgestone/Firestone Centennial Wilderness. This is a large outdoor space that is surrounded by open land (and some wild boars here and there!), complete with a big red barn for reception purposes, and a little house for the wedding party to get ready. We fortunately were able to work with Flameheart Studios again, and Becca's bride + groom photos from this wedding are some of my favorite from her in general. Heather chose purple and orange for her wedding colors, and she was a beautiful bride in her lace dress. I was sad to miss this wedding but glad that Casey got to film it! Congrats, Heather & Zach!

May 24: Lindsey & John Quirk
Okay, so since we have started LemonDrop Productions, we have been able to film several ADPi weddings, and I have missed all but one. I was determined to film this one! Lindsey & John were married at Lilac Farms at Arrington Vineyards, a new venue for us. "Gorgeous" would be the way to describe this venue. Outdoor space, barns, patios, cute bridal party houses, AND a large vineyard. The bridesmaids wore blue (and were super entertaining all day long), and the bride glowed in her sparkling wedding dress. I worked with Sarah Ingle Photography, and I was super impressed with Lindsey & John's wedding photos! The reception was a party and ended with a dance circle and a large group hug. I was so glad to film this wedding, especially since I got to reunite with some of my sorority sisters. Congratulations to Lindsey & John!

May 31: Mary Beth & Drew Haston
I'm pretty partial to this wedding since the bride is one of my best friends, but I will do my best not to brag *too* much. Maybe. :) Okay, so a little back story on MB & Drew is that they had crushes on each other in high school but never dated. In fact, the best man's speech stated that Drew thought Mary Beth was an "angel." How precious is that? Fast forward a few years to college, when they finally dated. Almost immediately, you could tell that Drew was head over heels for Mary Beth, and Mary Beth had a pretty constant smile on her face. Drew just made her insanely happy. These two compliment each other so well, and their wedding day was perfect. Because I was a bridesmaid, Casey filmed on his own most of the day, and he got to spend his whole morning with us girls. (Don't let him lie to you - he loved it. lol) We started the day at the hair salon for the bride to get her hair fixed (at Essentials Salon & Day Spa), and we finished getting ready in MB & Drew's new home. Mary Beth studied interior design in college, and you can tell by looking at her home - the Tennessee sign is my favorite thing...I wanted to steal it. :) Robbie Moore did our face makeup; she does beautiful work, and I'm not just saying that because we used her for our wedding or because she's a dear friend of mine! Anyway, so, Mary Beth's dress. Stunning. Sweetheart neckline, fitted waist, and then it flowed out around her. Her cathedral veil only added to her elegance. And every time I watch this video, I tear up at the first look she had with her father. He was so proud, and you could tell it in her face. It monsoon-ed on the way to the wedding site, and the threat of rain was imminent throughout the early afternoon. As we were leaving the bridal house, though, the sun came out through the fog, and I think all of us girls thanked the good Lord at how beautiful it was. "It's such a perfect day."
Mary Beth - The Dress
In the Intro video, you can see the weather as it rolled in that morning. The boys spent the morning playing baseball, and Drew threw in some exercises, haha. The couple chose pink, grey, and gold as wedding colors, so the girls wore blush pink, cotton dresses, and the men looked handsome in grey tuxes with dark blue ties. The couple took a sweet moment to pray together and read notes from each other before the ceremony, and Drew finally got to see his bride as she walked down the aisle. Mary Beth & Drew were also married at Bridgestone/Firestone Centenniel Wilderness. Guests sat in old church pews, and the wedding party walked through antique white doors. I loved this wedding. Thank you to Casey Mackie Photography for being so wonderful to work with! Mary Beth & Drew, we are so ridiculously happy for you.

And that was our month of May! Insane, huh? Thank you, brides, grooms, photographers, venues, and other vendors for making this month so much fun. Congratulations to all of you!

April 2014 Weddings

I am WAY behind on blogging. What, like, 4 months? We have been busy here! Since the beginning of April we have filmed 2 dance recitals, 1 birthday party, and 15 weddings. Whew. While Casey has been editing his tushy off, I studied for and took my medical school board exams (the second set). Maybe now we can catch up!

April 5: Bethany & Jordan Worley
I can't begin to tell you how excited we were for this wedding. We have wanted to do a destination wedding since the beginning, and when Bethany contacted us and said that her wedding was in Destin, FL, we immediately agreed to go. (It helps that Destin is Casey's favorite beach!) So, we drove the 9ish hours to Florida, and we spent all the next morning with Bethany & her bridal party. The girls got ready in a huge beach house that they rented, with some of the guys popping in and out through the day. It was nice because some of the girls even got to walk a few steps away and spend some time on the beach before they got ready. These girls were so fun, and I just have to brag a bit on Bethany's wedding dress and shoes. Her dress had a beautiful neckline that looked like seashells in a sweetheart shape. Then, her SHOES. Her shoes were HAND-PAINTED. They were amazing. My favorite bridal shoes I've ever seen. You can see her shoes and the fantastic Etsy shop that made them here: Bethany's awesome shoes! Her bridesmaids are also selfie queens. I think I heard "Let me take a selfie," more that day than I ever have. haha. We played off of it for her "The Dress" video, though. Here it is!
 Bethany - The Dress
Bethany & Jordan were married at Vue on 30A. According to their website, it is "The only restaurant on Florida's Scenic Highway 30A that has been voted as having the Best Waterfront Dining by Florida Travel + Life Magazine and most recently the "Best Place to Watch a Sunset" by the readers of Destin Magazine. Here, you'll experience a fresh approach to dining with a delicious menu designed and prepared by Chef Giovanni Filippone, who was recently named a Best Chefs America 2013 chef! In addition to these accolades, Vue on 30a continues to be a "Most Booked" restaurant at OpenTable.com." It was pretty spectacular. If you are in the area, definitely stop by! Their photographer was V & V Photography who was easy to work with and who took some pretty awesome shots on the beach! The only downside to this whole day was the weather. It simply wouldn't cooperate - it unfortunately rained during the ceremony time. Luckily, plan B worked well, and the couple was married on the patio at the Vue. The rained stopped long enough to catch some photos and video on the beach afterwards though, thank goodness! Another favorite thing of mine? Their wedding cake looked like a sandy beach. :) Thank you for the referral, Lynsie!

April 19: Chelsea & Ryan Watlington
Okay, so I have known Chelsea and her family for years now. Her mom was a teacher of mine in high school and a fabulous one at that. We were honored when they asked us to film their April wedding. Chelsea & Ryan were married at one of our favorite local venues - The Clark House. This venue is made up of a gorgeous older house with a spacious backyard for outdoor ceremonies, a barn to take photos with, and an outdoor reception area that can be covered and enclosed if weather is less than perfect. Their catering is also YUMMY. Their photographer was Chris Bright, who was also a friend of the bride's family. Live music played, really setting the mood for a beautiful ceremony. The wedding party wore turquoise, and there were pops of coral throughout. (I'm pretty partial to those colors - we used pretty similar ones for our wedding! haha) Congrats to this sweet couple!

March 2014 Weddings

March 1: Mary & Bradley Gabbert
Apparently, wedding videography makes for a great wedding gift! Lauren Fox-Bergvin's mother gave our videography package to Mary & Bradley as a gift, and because of that, we were able to film this couple's lovely wedding. We also know Mary because we filmed her brother's wedding in 2012! Mary was a happy, bubbly bride who laughed most of the morning. Her dress was beautiful - it was full and had lots of texture to it. Her bridesmaids' dresses were some of my favorites I have seen so far. They were shades of pinks and creams, none of them matching, but all of them so pretty, and they fit together SO well. Mary did a fantastic job picking them all out for the girls. Oh! And her one male brides-man looked very nice as well. :) Here is her video!

Mary - The Dress
Mary & Bradley were married at Linary Church of Christ in Crossville, TN. One of my favorite parts about her wedding was their guestbook! Someone made a patchwork quilt for them of pinks, browns, and creams, and guests signed the squares. I just loved it. The guys wore bowties of different patterns and suspenders...and some of them had a little trouble with the suspenders, which made for some funny video moments! :) We enjoyed this stylish wedding and the fun reception. Congrats to Mary & Bradley!

March 15:  Brittney & Adam Darby
So, I wasn't able to attend this wedding because I was on call that weekend, but Casey did, and he came back with some funny stories! When I watched the footage, I knew why he had such a fun time. This bride and her bridesmaids were HILARIOUS. Casey spent all morning with them as they got ready, and they were saying and doing funny things left and right. Brittney is a fun-loving, outgoing, adorable, sweet bride, and you could tell she was super excited about her wedding day! Brittney's dress complimented her perfectly, and the bridesmaids wore long, light pink dresses. Here is her video!
Brittney - The Dress
Brittney & Adam were married on March 15 in Jackson, TN. Kristen Elizabeth Photography was the photographer and was a joy to work with; you could tell she really loved what she was doing. Adam & Brittney were so sweet together. Before the ceremony, Adam gave Brittney a letter and a menu from the restaurant where they had their first date! How thoughtful is that?! The reception was entertaining as well with a special performance from a family member with her version of "Elvira." Congrats to you both, and thanks for making Casey's work day so enjoyable!

December 2013 and January 2014 Weddings

Okay, so we are severely behind with blogging again! Whoops. :) Things get so busy around here - Jessica is almost finished with her third year of medical school, and Casey has been swamped with weddings and dance recitals. We are so blessed with the amount of work we have had this year so far, and we have had so many wonderful opportunities to meet new people and clients. For this blog, we have to go way back to December and January!

December 28: Lauren & Erik Bergvin
Lauren is one of my friends from medical school, and she has such a sweet spirit. She always has a smile on her face and a positive thing to say. Needless to say, we were happy to be able to film her wedding! Lauren was a BEAUTIFUL bride. We spent all day with her and her funny bridesmaids as they got ready for the big day. Robbie Moore, our favorite make-up artist, was there to make each girl's features pop just a little bit more. We love Robbie, and we are amazed each time we work with her at how pretty she makes every bride and bridesmaid look AND feel. Alia Hale and her helpers curled (or straightened) and styled each head of hair. It was our first time working with Alia, but she worked her magic and did a wonderful job. Lauren's colors were a deep orange and purple, and the bridesmaids and attendants wore long gowns, alternating those colors. Our morning with this wedding party was so fun - the bridesmaids were hilarious; they told jokes and stories all day to keep the bride's happy nerves under control, did the thriller dance a time or two, and played the "Special Talents" game in which they would stand in a circle and each perform their "talent"...haha. Here's Lauren's video:
Lauren - The Dress
We got to meet Lauren's groom, Erik, this weekend as well, and they are such a good match for each other. Lauren & Erik were married at Linary Church of Christ in Crossville, TN. They dated for almost 6 years before they tied the knot, and their biggest loves (from what I can tell!) are definitely each other, their families/friends, and probably UT and their pup Delta. :) Their wedding was one of the most classic and traditional weddings we have attended in a while, and it was so nice to see. The men were dressed in black & white and sporting bow ties, and it complimented the bride's full, pearl colored bridal gown. A string quartet (umm, this was gorgeous, P.S.) played before and during the ceremony. Their Intro video also shows off the most impressive wedding cake we have ever seen and their UT pom pom exit. We are so happy for you both and hope you have enjoyed almost 6 months of marriage! (We will always remember your wedding date since you got married exactly 6 months after we did. haha)
Lauren & Erik - Intro
For this wedding, we also made a reception video. Why? Because their reception was a party! Almost everyone danced their hearts out, and it made for a fun video. AND because we could appropriately use "What Does the Fox Say?" considering Lauren's maiden name is Fox. :)

January 11: Brandi & Brian Dawson
We met Brandi back in February 2013 at a bridal show and then again in August 2013 when she was a bridesmaid at a wedding we were filming. She hired us shortly after, and we got to spend the day with her and her wedding party, which included our August bride, Julie. We don't normally photograph weddings, but we did photograph this wedding along with doing the videography. Her photos are posted in older blogs! Brandi is such a sweetheart and smiled all day long, even when she and her veil were fighting the wind, and Brian and his groomsmen were fun to be around, joking most of the day. Thank you guys for giving us the opportunity to better our photography skills and for letting us celebrate with you! Hope you guys are still happy, loving newlyweds, and congratulations on your recent graduation!
