October 5: Laura & Nick Oberski
Laura & Nick were married in Rising Fawn, Georgia, outside of a cabin called Half Moon Hill where she and her family stayed. It was a destination wedding for the couple, and their families came from several different states, including Texas and Wisconsin. They were married at 10:30 am. Who knew the lighting was so beautiful that early? The girls wore navy in dresses of different styles; the men wore brown vests in different shades. Laura's bouquet (stunning wildflowers) and dress were some of my favorite, ever, and Nick looked pretty snazzy in his navy and white button-up and a white tie. This wedding was unique, laid-back, and full of love.
Their love story, as told by Laura:
"I am a Texas girl - I lived there my whole life, minus a year and a half I spent at Covenant College in Lookout Mountain back in 2003. I moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in June of 2013 to help my brother start a food truck. Nick is a Michigan boy, born and raised, and he moved to Milwaukee about 3 years ago for a job (he's an electrical engineer). At the end of summer 2014, some of our mutual friends from church hosted a game night - I went, only having met the hostesses once each, and knowing only one other girl that was going to be there (for those who know me, this was way out of character). Nick went, under pressure of his roommate, even though he really just wanted to relax at home. We sat across from the room from one another that night, with plenty of time to notice, since the game we played for the entire two hours was not a very active one. After the game, I was standing by the snack table, and Nick came over and chatted with me for a while before he left. The next day was Sunday, and I had to go to church early because my roommate was serving as a greeter, so I was sitting in the row by myself. Nick, also there early to serve in the tech booth, took notice and came and sat and chatted with me again (for those who know him, this was very out of character). After a week or so, my roommate and I invited Nick to join our Monday night beach volleyball group, which he did, and then we hung out with groups a couple times for a cookout, game nights, etc. Nick asked me to coffee, which ended up being a 4 hour date, then on October 5, 2014, on a date to the Discovery World Museum, he asked me if I 'wanted to put a label on it' to be his girlfriend. On our 6 month dating anniversary, we had a sunrise date at the beach, and he sang a song he wrote for me, and asked me to be his wife. Six months after that, on our 1 year anniversary of dating, we put a different label on it, and added a few rings to seal the deal."
Favorite part of the day:
"Our favorite part of the day, and of the whole wedding weekend, was the fact that so many of our family members and close friends were all there in one place to celebrate with us. We are both "quality time" people, and we were absolutely blown away by how many people said yes to making the trip to be with us during the weekend. It was so fun to see everyone spending time together and enjoying one another - I loved seeing Nick's cousins playing a game with two friends of mine (who had just met one another), one from when I lived in Houston and one from when I lived in Temple. It was a collision of all of our favorite people in one place! What a blessing to be surrounded by so many people we love!"
The photographers were Pine and Pearl Photography; David and Kelley were so fantastic to work with, easy-going, fun, and they take some awesome photos. They were from Texas as well, so if any of you are in that area, look them up! Here is a direct link to Laura & Nick's photos: Gorgeous wedding photos! Apron Strings Catering provided a delicious brunch at the reception, and Cupcake Kitchen made the cupcakes, which were also super yummy.

October 5: Christina & Kevin Anton
Christina & Kevin were our second wedding of the day, and they were married at Tennessee River Place in Chattanooga, on a gorgeous day. This is seriously a beautiful place to get married, with a perfect backdrop, a great outside area, and some really nice indoor spaces as well. Their wedding was classy and elegant with Amabile Strings that played during the ceremony. The girls wore deep purple, and the men wore classic black suits. Christina's dress was full, flowing, and to die for.
Their love story, as told by Christina:
"We had a mutual group of friends and missed each other
throughout most of freshman year at ETSU and finally crossed paths at a
social event. From then on (5/2008) we have been inseparable! [As for our engagement,] after
months of sneaking around and hard work, Kevin asked Christina to a
sunset dinner on the boat. She had a long day in clinic and did not feel
up for it. Fortunately, he would not take no for an answer. Mid-dinner,
Kevin proposed to a very surprised Christina. After some
hyperventilation and tears they were officially engaged!"
Favorite part of the day:
"Our first dance (Note from Jessica - They did some very fancy footwork!), lantern lighting"
Their photographer was Robert from Shades of Grey Photography , and we can't wait to see some of the photos from this wedding! With this venue and some of the back of the camera shots we snuck, they should be amazing. DJ Terry D was awesome to work with at the reception. He was so respectful of us and the photographers, and he threw a mean party! Alshabibi Catering provided the yummy food and the beautiful white and purple tinted flowers for the bride and her girls.
October 10: Jenny & Devin Johnson
Jenny & Devin were married at First Baptist Church in Sparta. This was such a pretty church wedding! The church was decorated in such a shabby chic way with old windows hanging from the ceiling, and grey and turquoise/mint all around. The bride wore a dress that fit her body well then flared out at the bottom that was adorned with some pearls and some sparkle (from Merle Norman in Cookeville!). She wore a beautiful matching headband. Her girls wore long grey dresses and pearls with turquoise/mint ties around their neck. (I'm probably not describing the color well, by the way! It was pretty, though. :) ) And the guys wore dark, classy tuxes. The kids in the wedding were hilarious! Feisty and energetic, they were playing up until the ceremony, and the little flower girl made herself at home, laying down in the chairs and in the floor in her white dress and grey converse shoes. :) Jenny was wonderful to be around, and although Devin was a man of few words, you could tell how absolutely in love he is with his bride. So sweet!
Their love story, as told by Jenny:
"One was in love at first sight and the other was in love 10 years later. In the later teen years of our lives, we met each other through a random night with friends. Devin tried his hardest to even get my attention. However, knowing I was moving away to go to college, I wanted no part in a relationship back home. Over the past years, Devin stayed in contact with me while I was away. Upon moving back home and getting a job back in our hometown, our talks became more frequent and in-depth. Over a short period of time, my heart completely fell in love with a man that never gave up his love for me in the 10 years. We dated 9 months, engaged for 5 months, and are now happily married. I cannot imagine my life without my best friend now."
Favorite part of the day:
"Even though we saw each other before the wedding and took a few pictures, my favorite part of the wedding day was walking down the aisle and seeing the emotion in Devin's eyes. I felt his love for me by just a look."
Are you kidding me? How precious are they?? I love it. We worked with Lindsey Brown Photography this day, our first time working with this sweet, talented lady. She was so easy-going, and good to chat with...and her photos are awesome. Can't wait to see some from this wedding! Sparta Flowers and Gifts provided the flowers, and Bobby Price supplied the yummy BBQ dinner.

October 11: Tarra & Michael Hernandez
Tarra & Michael were married at The Saltbox Inn and Stables in Cookeville. Their wedding day was rainy, but let me tell you, it didn't seem to dampen anyone's mood. The two of them are so clearly in love, and they smiled all day long, rain and all. The rain even created an ambiance as it came down on the tin roof that was over the guests. Tarra's brother in law played guitar during the ceremony as well, adding to the feel of the ceremony. The girls wore navy, in different styles, and the guys wore grey. Tarra's dress was sleek, form-fitting, and stunning. Congrats, again, to this old dance friend and UTC peer of mine, Tarra, and her new hubby!
Their love story, as told by Tarra:
"Ok,
So! Michael and I. We met in college, right before I started my
sophomore year, and he started his senior year. We were at a birthday
party of a mutual friend. We immediately hit it off. Later on that
semester, we started seeing each other around and found out we actually
had a lot of the same friends. But we started hanging out more and more. I
guess you could say we were dating that first year, but neither of us
wanted to put a label on it (stubborn, haha). I didn't because I knew he
was going to be moving away after he graduated for dental school. I
didn't want to get into a long distance relationship situation. He was
thinking the same thing. This went on until a couple of weeks before he
moved, when it finally all came out that we loved each other and wanted
to try to make it work. So we then became "official", and the rest is history! We were in a long distance relationship (7 hour drive) for 4 years. And then last June (2013) we moved to Asheville after he graduated from dental school. He proposed to me last December!"
Favorite part of the day:
"My
favorite part about the wedding was the fact that we were able to
incorporate family members into the ceremony. My sister's husband,
Brandon Wadley, did the ceremony music, and Michael's cousin, Bianca
Torres, did the Ed Sheeran song "Thinking Out Loud". I am a huge family
person and it was so great. Also the fact that most everyone in both of
our families were able to be there. My only living grandparent (my
mom's dad, who is 92 years old) was able to be there. And
two of my cousins-one had a baby a month prior to the wedding, and
one's due date was less than a month after the wedding- were both there.
And how everyone was so ready to dance! I had the best time ever. Also, it was just so amazing to have everyone we love in the same room at the same time. I know that is never ever going to happen again. I was really trying to take that fact in the whole night."

We worked with Zach and Sarah Photography, one of our favorites. Their photos are always breath-taking, and they are both so fun to work with. Here's a sneak peek from their wedding: Isn't it beautiful!? Bruce Anderson, from Cookeville, created the full, white bouquets and also helped with decoration. Victor Kline with Chartwells catering provided the great food at the reception.
